Title: Work Issues Scenario 3
Post by: fjaz1 on August 30, 2015, 12:34:25 am
In this place we get about 100 plus UPS packages a day in which at least 4 people receive, including me.  Some items are small and light and some are big and heavy.  When the items are received and checked in you either get a pick sheet for them or they get put away.  Generally when you have a pick sheet for an item say a couple of dozen pairs of work gloves, you initial it and put the gloves on a cart that has a few shelves on it of varying heights.  One shelf might be 6 inches high for small things and one might be 18 inches high for bigger boxes.  Now one day I had 4 boxes of work boots and double stacked them on an 18 inch shelf, here is what you won't believe I witnessed next.  I went to put a pack of work shirts on that cart and the person in front of me removed 2 boxes of work boots put them on the bottom shelf and placed 2 containers of drill bits about the size of a candy bar where the boxes of shoes just were when there was plenty of room on the small shelf for such items.  By the way this person does this everyday, simply uses no common sense just places the small stuff anywhere except where it belongs then when someone has a big thing to put on the shelf they have to move the little items out of the way to do so and when the small items are placed by others where they should be the person who does it wrong then takes the small things off the small shelf and puts them back on a big shelf.  How ludicrous is this and a waste of time!  Thoughts?
