Grew up in the 70's listening to Classic Rock

I'm a classic rock and roll girl. 50's, 60's and 70's. I remember when I was a teen and my parents always laughed at us for the love of our music and would tell us how their music was the best. I thought then, I will always listen to whatever the current music is and not be like my parents. Well, that didn't happen. Love my oldies.

When I was growing up, my favorite music genre was rock, specifically 80s glam rock / glam metal. But as I got older, I started to appreciate other genre types too. Now although I'm still more partial to rock, I also enjoy many other genres like country, R&B, even some rap (something that I hated in my youth). We just had a new radio station start up this year (I think) and they pride themselves on variety; it seems like they play anything that made the Hot 100 since the 80s onward. I'm really enjoying this station because of its variety. It's similar to my own playlist that I listen to at work; having over 50K songs, my playlist is quite extensive and I'm always hearing different songs.

80's punk rock and hip hop

I was fortunate to grow up around all kinds of music. Genres like gospel, jazz, classical, and country among other things. Then I started listening to r&b, and a little hip-hop. Now I listen to contemporary Christian music. One of my favorites would have to be classical because I took piano lessons and learned how to play classical songs.
I guess you could call it a melting pot of music.
