Title: Weather Whether We Like it or Not :)
Post by: adriarobi on October 02, 2015, 03:30:21 pm
I love the Mid-West. Four distinct seasons. It is fall, leaves are turning, a chill in the air.

There is a serious chilly wind that has been blowing the last 4 days.  We have windchill, and it is the 1st week of October!

While it would be kind of fun, there are plenty of vegetables still growing in the garden. I am soooo hoping that we won't lose the last of the crop to a frost.

Soon, the frost and snow will wipe it off the landscape. Spring we start it all again.

Love the changing seasons, and the challenges of each. How about you?

We finally have some true Fall weather over here now. Nice smell in the air, slightly cloudy, I love it. I couldn't imagine living in a place that didn't experience all 4 seasons.

I am in the midwest as well, and it is windy out tonight. It is supposed to warm up again next week though. It is kind of nice to not have to run the Air Conditioner or the Furnace, save on electric bills.

I live in the northeast (a lot of rain today), I would prefer to have it warm all the time.

I'm in the South where normally I love this time of year but we're being deluged with rain.  Right now it's a slow steady rain but my backyard is already a swamp and before it's over i"m expecting it to look like a river.  Hoping all those in flood zones will be careful out there.   It's going to get bad  here.

Winter is overrated more messy and miserable than a winter wonderland...but it is necessary for all so you accept

You always have "windchill".  Even in the middle of the summer.  If the wind is blowing it will feel cooler than it actually is.

Home-made soup sounds soooo good. Fall is the season to make lots of that, and corn-bread etc. I am lovin' it.

Each season is refreshing when it starts. When it gets "old", we get a new one.

Yes, I know we get windchill all the time. I was referring to the unusual chill in the wind the last week. The wind guts are 40 mph, and it is in the mid 50's.

I hope non of you has serious flooding where you are.  Went through that as a kid. Very hard  to deal with.

I live in Michigan and greatly enjoy THREE seasons.  Winter...I hate.  If I had the money, I would leave right after Thanksgiving and not return until mid-April.  I would see the very beginning of winter and be glad I was leaving and the beginning of spring and be glad I was back.

Right now where I live we have had rain for several days.  I know we needed the rain, but enough is enough.  I want it to stop.

It's 52 here today, cloudy/dark and it's my day off so I love it....it's great day for relaxing, baking, cleaning house.

I don't like the fact that winter is coming & shorter days but on the bright side, it's one day closer to Spring 2016!!   :rose:

I like living where we have al 4 seasons, just wish winter and summer were not quite so long. I prefer the spring and fall the most. But with out summer we would not have all the crops we have.  Now the canning is coming to a close and it is time to start getting the fire wood. Never stops here for us. Something to do all the time.

The seasons are very distinct here in NY too. I miss the summer though because it's already very chilly.

I have wanted to learn to can, as there are so many veggies still coming. I have to freeze them up fast, but canning would would be a wonderful supplement to that in so many ways.  My kitchen is just too small to start that now.

I live in Wisconsin, and our June was cold and wet, and October started out very cold, serious winds (40MPH), and we still have veggies growing.

I love fall, the chill, later the snow, but so miss the garden.

Summer's only draw for me is a fresh start in the garden.

I do love the four seasons. There is always something refreshing when they start and when they change.
