I've had buffalo and elk, but have never cooked venison. There's a local store that sells venison jerky... I would just look up recipes online. If you're a vegetarian perhaps your husband should learn how to cook it himself.

I would if it is a steak soak it in some milk or coke which takes out the game taste. Other wise if it is ground up spice it up pretty good with chopped onions and a lot of black pepper. It is not one of my favorites either but grew up on it. Would rather have elk or bison. Not as gamey tasting.

We eat a lot of venison! Two of our favorite ways is to grind the meat up and make a pot of chili and the other is to cut the meat in small pieces and cook it in the crock pot with onions until done and then pour brown gravy over it. Serve over mashed potatoes or buttered noodles. I like to add garlic powder to it, also.

I've tried it but never cooked it. I would research online
