I thought we were all dead when the force of the impact of a huge buck jumped out of no where and slammed right into the driver side of our truck! My husband was driving, I was in the passenger seat and my 8 yr old son was in the middle back seat. Thank God we are all ok but that was the scariest thing I had to go thru this morning! I thought I broke my collar bone and both my husband and myself had lacerations on our faces from the busted driver window and shards and splinters of glass cut us up. My son was a quick thinker and covered his face with his hood and he was covered with glass as well but no scratches on him thank God! I definitely had an angel watching over us this morning! I can cry just thinking of it, it was very traumatic!
God tells us in different ways and signs when to slow it down or to open our eyes and just love each other unconditionally! Unfortunately some people can't see that and I feel sorry for them.

I know the feeling, one time we were traveling in Illinois and hit a deer at 80 miles an hour on the freeway going to Chicago and it almost came in the front windshield. Lucky my wife was asleep or she would have freaked.

you are so lucky no one was really hurt. That's scary I love deer but I'm always afraid of hitting them or them running into our cars. God was watching over you 3 today. So happy you and your family are ok! 😀

My daughter hit a deer a few months ago. It tore up her right finder. She was not hurt but it had to be fixed. Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)

So happy you guys are relatively ok and sorry you had to go through this but I do believe there is a reason for everything. I live in an area where deer and bears can come out of the woods also the back way to a town where we visit family we go down a road where there has been a lot of bear and or deer vs vehicles. Take care you have such a good way of looking at things.

That is the worst. I am glad you are all ok. I just saw that where I live a guy on a motorcycle was killed when he hit a deer/deer hit him.

Wow! Scary! I'm glad for you and your family that you're all alright! Sorry to hear about your truck, but that could be fixed. Sometimes people can't be fixed. God was watching over you and yours.

So far we have been lucky in missing the deer. Had one clip us on the right fender, but on the other hand a steer ran right out into to the highway and got us. Thank God all four of were alright but it totaled our SUV. Had to call my brother to bring a trailer to take it home, my niece-in-law drove up to pick us up. Ticked me off as it should have been fenced in. The rancher paid for our SUV. Of course it was only blue book value and was so comfortable. Oh well we all have to take our chances on the highways be it drunk divers or animals

wow hope every one is ok i do love deers but i no the feeling i almost hit one many years ago in pa thankfully i was able to stop in time

All these wild animals on our roads: When will they learn?! Moose also jump on the hood of your vehicle. I am glad to see all of you survive...because other people are not so lucky!

Thank you all so much! But this has been an unbelievable week! Yesterday (the day after the accident) We traveled 3 hrs to my mother-in-laws house to borrow her vehicle because my husbands truck was not acceptable to drive and an hour into driving (i'm driving my truck behind him) a DEER jumps out and slams into the back of the Honda's quarter panel and it's all dented in! I was in awe when I witnessed this!! We both pulled to the side of the rode and were like WTF! My son was traumatized again because all he kept saying the whole ride was "Please don't let us hit a deer! Please don't let us hit a deer!" I think it's a sign and for it to happen 2 days in a row is crazy!

Wow kimber62372, that is so weird. Two deer accidents in two days.
I am glad you and your family are OK! Hopefully your son isn't too traumatized.
Harvest time is always a high deer traffic time of the year.....extra caution doesn't always keep us safe. As you had it happen, the deer ran into you; which is better than had you ran into them. Those accidents are usually worse.

In the part of COlorado we use to live in, the road kill animals were taken to the School (Small area only 1 school K-12), if they did not need then it was given to low income families. So even though it was traumatic, the mea did not go to waste. I am glad you are all ok after your bumper car weekend.

Deers pop out of nowhere in my area. I sometimes see road kill deer in the side walks and sometimes next to the train tracks
