Title: Shopping for thanksgiving dinner
Post by: melodylogan45 on November 21, 2015, 05:44:54 am
We went shopping last night for our thanking dinner and a got good deal on the turkey
and ham, we also bought our sides. The store was somewhat crowded, but we were glad
to get that over with considering how, busy it will be this week and the weather.

Have you started grocery shopping yet?🍗🍗

Yes, I picked up what I needed yesterday. It was such a madhouse but I happen to be there during a special... if you spent $30 you got any size turkey for $5, so it ended up being a good time to go.

We have a few things for Thanksgiving. We have our turkey, sweet potatoes (fresh not canned) and the fixings for green bean casserole and pudding pie.

Oh yes! Usually, for whatever reason I'm not able to go to the store until the week of and I don't look forward to it. The stores are usually crowded and I get annoyed because someone usually has their cart in my way. This time I went a couple of days ago and bought a few last minute items today. The store wasn't crowded at all. Ahh relief.

I heard that Winco were doing a really great deal on turkeys. I heard if you spend $100 on groceries, you get a turkey for free. I would dearly loved to have taken that deal home however I don't have any Winco's very close to my home. The nearest one is 50 miles away and when you factor in petrol costs to get there, even that deal is not so good for me. I have a Walmart only about a mile from my home but I haven't heard of any thanksgiving deals there, just everyday low prices, which is good for every other day of the year!

This will be the first year I will not be cooking. I have picky eaters in my household and I usually cook way to much. Think we will be going out to eat.

It is exciting to shop for my dinner. I looked at every turkey there lol  :turkey: I got to buy the yams because my friend like em like I do. I bought 3 frozen pies I didn't make them shuush  ::) with whipped cream. I got 1 can of sweet corn and 1 can of creamed corn I will mix them up. My friends helped me with my computer so I decided to make homemade mac and cheese instead of a green salad. I bought the 10 pound bag of potatoes for the big bowl of mash. Oh ya I got the canned cranberries and not the homemade relish. I bought the bread too yummy. I told everyone that come over with a smile on their faces and

It is exciting to shop for dinner, I agree with snuggleycutejc.

Tomorrow I pick up some deserts & making for some sides...  I'm excited to see what they have - Costco, Sam's Club, Sprouts.
The other day, I bought a couple cans of cranberry sauce from the 99 cent only store, 2 for 99 cents.  Such a deal.  People who do not frequent the 99 cent only store are missing out on good deals.  :)

Good Luck with your Thanksgiving activities everyone!  Hope everyone has a great holiday week. :)
