Ok, so it's still a year away, but I'll be moving from New Jersey to Massachusetts and I have a leased vehicle. Does anybody know how I go about transferring the lease? Do I just call the lease company and tell them I'm moving? Do I have to do anything at the Department of Motor Vehicles? For some reason, I just feel worried about it, like I'm going to get penalized for moving the leased car from one state to another. But I don't see why I would. I mean, I actually leased the car from a New Hampshire dealer and they took care of registering it here in New Jersey and all that. I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with this to ease my mind a bit!

I've never had a leased vehicle so don't quote me, but I think all you'd need to do is get the vehicle registered and licensed in Mass. The state wouldn't care whether you've purchased the vehicle outright or are in a lease agreement, nor would the dealership that you have it leased through (as long as you continue to make your lease payments).
