Title: David Bowie
Post by: kingozzy on January 11, 2016, 08:45:48 am
When I was younger I thought he was such a strange guy, but the older I got and the more I listened to different types of music and the more music I tried to create for myself I realized that he was just a genius at expressing himself and creating his own type of music and art.  His vision of what he wanted always came out in his art.  His last album he made before he passed is a goodbye to all of us.  RIP

Nice tribute, kingozzy.  I was late in realizing his talent as well.

Seems like there have been a great deal of celebrity deaths lately. Kinda scary.  :o

I enjoyed listening to his music.  It's a shame, I read he battled cancer fir 18 months.  So sad.

It seems we often recognize talent after they are gone.

Always loved this guy and was so sorry to hear of his passing.  A great artist who will now be enjoyed by the masses "above."  RIP, David Jones (Bowie).

I always thought he was a genius since my youth. I think it is beautiful that he knew he was dying and made an album as a gift to us before he died.  I just read an article on him on his birthday, which was a couple days ago, and no where did it mention he had cancer, & was dying. Very sad day indeed... RIP David Bowie... the stars look very different today

My mom practically worshiped David Bowie growing up, and I do mean she quite literally nearly worshiped him. I have her to thank for exposing me to his music, and of course one of my childhood movie staples being Labyrinth.  :) I yelled in shock at the TV this morning when I saw he had passed. Had no idea this was coming. Watched his music video for "Lazarus" and was very touched, while strangely unsettled. RIP

I never really cared for David Bowie.  I have always thought he was creepy.  He had a song or two that I liked but not much else.  Can't stand Ziggy Stardust.

He's someone that many of us are used to. We saw him on American Bandstand with *bleep* Clark and other music show. I think he's one of the few who didn't have a scandal. I'm sure his albums are gonna sell big time. RIP, you rock.

I didn't realize he was battling cancer when I heard the news of his death. Very unfortunate.

I saw a 30 minute program of David Bowie as a guest on a variety show back in the early '70's.  It was quite interesting.  He seemed quite uneasy during the interview portion.  I'm sure he was much more comfortable on stage than sitting at the Q & A table.

Then I saw David in an interview very recently and he seemed much more at ease and quite funny.  He was relating an experience of a fellow performer who was having an issue with a toupee while on stage.  It was really funny.

He was a very interesting fellow and will be greatly missed.
