Cleaning out my pantry today. Have a tendency to just put things in there, and always thinking some day I would get at it.
Today, I started cleaning out the 2nd shelf, which looked the scariest.
On that one shelf, I found 5 full bags of chocolate chips, and half bag. Looked for an empty container to put that open bag of chips, and found another half bag!!
Good grief! I will make cookies, and chocolate zucchini bread, and magic cookie bars till it comes out of our ears, but it won't be wasted.
Fortunately, I put the month and year on a pkg when I buy it so if I have more than one, I use the oldest first.....
I almost need a separate shelf for these. Kinda funny. Kinda pitiful ... ha!

When I was a kid I was addicted to Freihoffer's chocolate chip cookies. I used to eat a box a day.

Good grief, indeed :)
I wish I would have such good fortune to fine chocolate chips in my pantry.

This makes me feel better about eating eight chocolate chip cookies yesterday, haha. I still have a bag of chocolate chips in the pantry that I've been meaning to use in a chocolate peanut butter cup recipe. My mouth salivates at the thought!!! :in-love:

Chocolate chips is a good addiction!

Yum, love chocolate chip.

I seem to remember my mom really loving chocolate chips (think they were a new thing back then...I am 72).
Does that make me a "chip" off the old block?
Yeah, think it does...ha ha!

I love to bake, and really get into it at Christmas as I give a lot of it away. But this year I thought I was out of the chips so bought a lot more and then lo and behold when I straightened up my pantry I found 4 bags that I had set aside and forgot about. Well guess I will make more cookies later on. Getting old sucks sometimes when you forget what you have. They were packed in one of the plastic tubs I keep small packages together so they won't get lost. Right.

Well, I'm not so sure you're a chocolate chipaholic, because you forgot about the chocolate chips in the first place!
A true chocolate addict would have eaten the chips already. Happy baking! :)

Hmmm, you may have a bit of a point there.
It is time to use them up, and that much will make sense ha!

I was cleaning out one of my desk drawers and at the very bottom of it, I found a half bag of Hershey's Krackle miniature bars. I have no idea how old they are so I guess they'll be pitched.
I still have a half bar of Baker's Semi-Sweet chocolate bar in my freezer from when I used to make peanut butter cups but I shouldn't eat any candy or chocolate anymore so I guess I can just look at it and drool. :silly:

Whoa! And I thought i was bad! lol ... I love chocolate myself and have to curb my cravings on my own until that one day I allow myself to have it and then I savor every last morsel and taste of it! YUM! :)

That is too funny. I still got to think of something to do with these reeces peanut butter chips. I never used for
Christmas. Chocolate Fudge, cookies, brownies, cake, and peanut butter clusters, there is a good recipe for you, chocolate chips, 1TBS grease and peanuts, microwave, spoon out on baking sheet cool, yummy.
