Title: Could not do shot
Post by: sgluckadoo on February 21, 2016, 10:54:57 am
Anyone have to do self injections and just reach a point where you could not do it anymore? I had some sort of mental breakdown last night and could not do my injection.

So sorry. I used to have to take victoza for diabetes. It got to where I could not take the medication anymore. Waiting until April to see if I need to do something else.

I do not think I could ever give myself a shot.  I just never would be able to do it.

I am so glad that I don't have to give myself shots especially every day.  I cringe at the site of a needle.  I'm not as bad as I use to be since I had to take allergy shots for five years.

No fortunately I don't have to do self injections.  I don't know if I could do that, but I guess it I had to I would find a way.

When I was pregnant with my oldest son, I got gestational diabetes and I had to inject myself with insulin before every meal. I thought I couldn't do it but very quickly, I got the hang of it. I even learnt, by trial and error, how to inject the needle with minimal pain. Pinch the skin lightly and don't move the needle once it's in!! Once I gave birth, my gestational diabetes went away and whilst I was free from the inconvenience of stabbing myself everyday, I got to a place of missing the excitement! Am I strange?

My father did it for years. I don't like the idea of giving myself injections but being a diabetic I may have to in the future. I have no doubt that if I had I could as long as the medication didn't have any severe side effects  :rainbow: :rose: :peace:

Thank God, I don't have to self-inject!  I really don't think I could do it!  Hope you can overcome!

Ouch. Sorry to hear this. I've never had to do self injections but had to give one of my pets IV fluids for awhile. It was horrible for her.

I had to self-inject warfarin in my tummy after having found a blood clot behind my leg.  Although this was temporary it saved my life.  I thought I could never self-inject like my sister has had to do with type 1 diabetics since she was 9.  But I did it and never gave it a thought.  Of course my situation was temporary. I only had to inject for a few weeks?  Maybe it was a few months?  The time is a blur.
