Has anyone tried working from home and made decent money? Share the wealth of ideas ...lol
I just started with this company from home as a independent customer service contractor and the time you spend on the phone with some people just drain you but I can get used to it and possibly like doing this part time. Although it's a 1099, I don't think it will hurt me too much. :)

Hi Kimber. Good luck on your new customer service venture. I did cs once, in an office, and quickly discovered it's not for me. Like you said, being on the phone with some people is draining, but at least you're working from home so I hope that makes it easier. I, too, want to work from home and hope many people will reply to this thread with valuable info. Like you said, share the wealth. Enjoy your day.

I'd like to find a good work at home job, but it certainly wouldn't be in customer service! I'm not a people person, and the stress wouldn't be worth the money. (It doesn't help that you have to jump through so many hoops just to talk to a person when you call CS on the phone, that the customers end up being in a really bad mood by the time they get a live person to explain the problem to!)

I work for a large corporation and am able to work from home once a week which, I am sure, is not what you are looking for. Today the campus closed because of an extreme snow storm in Colorado-I think that we have gotten around ten inches and there is no sign of the snow letting up. I work a full time night/weekend job that is purely contract loan underwriting and contract work by the project but I have been busy for over four years on that job. I was hired because I have extensive experience in that field so that may not be helpful. I have been taking all of the income from my internet tasks and investing in a somewhat wise manner but this is more of a deferred compensation approach as I never do anything with the money except to make more money. I guess I am not much help. Sorry. Let us know if you find something that works?

Yeah. I'm making great supplemental income with a work at home job. And there is definitely the ability to turn it into full time income because I am building residual income. I never thought I would get into network marketing but after a heart attack three years ago, at age 28, I was doing terrible afterwards and I found a whole food supplement that literally gave me my life back. I share it with others and it has done tremendous things for a ton of people that I know. I'm loving it.

I am a freelancer...and I work from home. Income, money-Don't ask me? Maybe, someone in the future will reward me.

You had a heart attack at 28?! Oh my!!!!

Yeah, that's what the Doctors said!!! I am doing great now and I see it as a true blessing. I have made serious changes and I am sure the rest of my life will be better for it.

I do not trust the Work from home scams out on the market, I think that a good paying job is better use of time..
-
that sounds interesting - do you make good $? Let us know how it goes - maybe we can follow you!

That sound interesting, I would love to do that but unfortunately have not found anything worth it. Let us know how it goes

I've been blessed to have finally figured out at 40 what I'm suppose to do and working at home for me (Full time anyway) just isn't for me. I do sites like FC. But I also have a part time job. As a professional cake decorator I'm not expanding to doing orders from my home.. someday I see myself having my own bakery. My husband is completely self employed. He does lawn maintenance and runs an e-bay store. He loves it and never ever wants to go back to traditional work again.
-
I have friends that have started small businesses working from their homes. It IS possible but if you are looking for a job like this- visiting sites and such, I don't know how anyone could get rich of of just these types of sites!
-
I would love to work from home if the opportunity were to rise.

Happy to hear you're doing great, B. Enjoy the gift of life!

Reading the input from all of you has peaked my curiosity about working from home but I need something that is safe. I look forward to more input from others.
-
I do try it way past. Don't like that much. But look in the bright side, you earn some cash on your way :) Wish you the best of luck.
-
I did network marketing years ago, and it worked well for me.
I had family issues where I was needed, and iit ended....but not because it did not work.

I drop ship on eBay. I do this part-time and am learning about selling on Amazon.

Very informative answers. I really do enjoy the wide range of people here on FusionCash. Thank you for starting this thread and for everyone for sharing!

I know this is probably a pretty standard answer, but I've been slowly creating an Etsy shop. I'm planning on just using it to bring in a little extra at first, until I see if anything I put up actually, y'know, sells, but it's definitely an option if you're crafty/interested in becoming crafty. :)

Have you looked into essential oils? They are all the rage, and changing lives for the better. I am seeing lots of stay at home moms building a substantial income with their "home" essential oil business.
-
Sadly none of the work at home gigs have ever worked out well and most of the work at home things out there are scams
-
I would like to be able to work from home, I think that would be great for part of the time, but might get stir crazy from being there all the time.
-
Wish i could help you out there but for every 10 home jobs 9 of them are usually scams and hard to tell which ones are legit from all the fakers
-
I would love a legit work at home job but it is hard to weed out the scams

Ok guys, here's an update so far. The 1st week I started I only put in 2 hours and 15 mins of talk time. Seems like a little but it feels longer...lol. Don't ask me how but I was able to retain only one customer to stay active with services and it brought my pay up a tad. You get paid by the minute. So for 2 hrs and 15 mins worth of work, I got paid (YES! I actually got paid direct deposit on a THURSDAY) $31.13!! Break that down to hourly rate of almost $14.50 an hour. BUT ---yes there is a BUT....that can always change. The minimum you would make which I did the 2nd week is $7.80 an hour, so far. But I put way more hours in. It's draining a bit but I do find satisfaction in helping people and I do believe I will get better at this. I think tomorrow they are raising the pay rate, so we shall see. Fingers crossed. :)

I take care of dogs in my home for years. It takes awhile to build clientele but I enjoy it and I get to stay home...
-
I did years ago but haven't done it in awhile
-
its a funny thing, i happened to look for work at home on monster and over the search engine and a couple of responses came to me and i actually didnt get the jobs, its hard, my mom said that if the internet was paying such money then everybody would do it from home, you have to know how to bring in the customers and make a website or business or its ptc's basically
-
I already have a full time job, but I would love to moonlight with a side "hustle" job from home as well. I am still in search for one. But sadly, nothing has piqued my interest. I have a relative who works for AT&T from home (doing customer service work). She finds it to be so much more convenient (for obvious reasons). I may ask her for some references/advice. :-)
-
I work from home creating and hosting websites for businesses. I am down to just a few customers to cover the cost of my own web hosting, but it still works for me. Then I use Fusioncash to maintain a PayPal fund to pay a subscription for a service I use myself and get referrals for. It's just starting to grow into my dream of getting paid for doing nearly nothing, so I can enjoy my retirement more.

Customer service and marketing are by far the main job for work from home. Once you feel you might be interested in a particular company, I would say use your computer/phone to do some in-depth research on the company. If it is a well-known company, and I've seen a few that are, then you don't have to be as concerned. Make a list of questions and be sure to clarify specifics.
-
I use to work for a companey that allowed you to work from home doing cs and tech work it was sweet but teh down fall is your home all the time and dont get out as much .
-
I shy away from home jobs where I have to speak to customers on the phone for this very reason; all the complaining and disrespect can start to take a toll not only on your physical energy but also vibrational level. But I'm sure with experience you'll learn to get use to it. Good luck!

I had a heart attack a year ago at age 32, so I understand. I hope you're healthy now :)

I have joined quite a few businesses online, still haven't made any money, but I will prevail.

Wow bigfoot951 and pgs28!! I cannot believe at such a young age you both had heart attacks! I hope all is well now and keep making that money! :) When the interest 1st came out, my dream was to work from home and be my own boss and I do believe it is coming true! :) 21 years later! lol
-
Thanks for your concern!! All is well now, I've been avidly working out since 2012 but I use to eat HORRIBLY, which I've gotten a lot better at.

I guess if I could find the right opportunity, but so many of the work at home jobs seem to be a scam and I know I would not be a good fit for anything in customer service! I am retired so I just stick with my substitute teaching and of course love doing fusion cash as every little bit helps. I think if you can find something that actually works for you and you enjoy then I say go for it; great when you can kind of set your own hours.

My wife is an unclassified sub for the school and makes about a grand a month, so that is certainly better than most jobs where you can take off any time with no hassle.

Subbing is not a bad gig old buddy. Hope all is working out for the both of you. So far this gig for me is not too bad. An extra $80-100 bucks a week and that's putting in minimal hours per week. I could always do more if I wanted but for now it's sufficient. :)

The opportunity to make decent money online is there for those that are truly entrepreneurial. Those who aren't entrepreneurial usually work for someone who is. ;)

I am going to school now to become a medical transcriptionist, which you can do from home.
