Title: Can you drink your faucet water in your home?
Post by: snuggleycutejc on April 05, 2016, 11:30:47 am
Since our area where I live is suffering the drought, caused the drinking water in the pipes to settle or something, they put disinfection, now I can't drink it, I have to buy bottled water! extra expense. The letter that I received in the mail titled Important Information About Your Drinking Water. We don't have Lead we have Trihalomethanes the disinfection byproducts are too high for the drinking water standard. I called the office and asked if I could get a break on the property taxes, they did not know what I was talking about! I am going to keep all my water store receipts Maybe I will get a break. All these years in this area, never experienced this before.

Yes we can drink water from our faucets   We have well water and get it checked every other year.  It really is good tasting and when we go out to eat and get water we can really taste the difference.

I live in a crap part of town, and we can't drink our water either, at least not without boiling it first, or we will get sick. We also buy bottled water, which is another expense. but it is cheap, and we just use it to drink, can still use tap to cook and clean and all that. It sucks, but we are use to it by now. at first we would goto my parents house and fill huge jugs full of water, but that was a pain in the butt. and when we can get 72 bottles of water for $9 its a lot easier to do it that way.

We can drink our tap water where I live, It is not as good as when I lived in Southern  part of N.M.  we had well water and it tested out at 99.09% pure. It was so good. Even though we had two farms on each side of us. We were over  the underground river that runs through that part of the state. It comes up on the other side into Mexico. I really miss that water.

I certainly can't tell you what might be in our water, but I sure the heck don't drink it from the faucet anyway because it just tastes nasty.  I buy bottled water.  The only place I've ever drank the water from the faucet was NY.  There are actually pizza places here that get their water from NY to make their pizzas.

April 5, 2016!

Hi Snuggleycutejc and everyone else out there in Fusion Cash world:

Yes, I drink water from my kitchen's faucet, but I like to microwave it and drink it hot, obviously, with tea inside of it!

And, whenever I go out I like to order my cheeseburgers and occasionally I will also ask for a cup of water.

And, sometimes I even drink bottled water!

I can, most of the time.
I worry about the chemicals in it, though.  Sometimes it smells like bleach, and I won't chance it.

I also use a Brita pitcher for drinking water.

We can drink our faucet water and luckily, I haven't noticed any strange tastes. I feel for those who have had to deal with their water issues. Just one more thing that I don't take for granted.

Yes I do drink my water out of the faucet at home.  It is safe.  I have to drink a lot of water because of a kedney infection.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)

Yes, we drink our faucet water, we have well water. I won't drink city water, so if we go out to eat I always order tea to cover the taste. My well water is very good.

We can but don't unless we use our Brita.  Right now I'm out of filters so we're drinking bottled.   I always have bottled water on hand to use going out or working in the yard.  I think it's wise to keep your receipts for your water.  Never know, you might be able to get some kind of credit.   I would certainly look into it.  Maybe get your local newspaper to do a story and create more information.   Go to a city/county meeting - call and request to be able to speak at one of the meetings.   The more people you get behind you the better.

With all the ingredients they put in water, it's not fit to drink.  I have used a filter on my sink for years.

I probably could but I don't.  I buy reverse osmosis water at a nearby grocery store.  I have dietary restrictions because what I consume and don't consume has a determines how well I feel.

It's all part of being a foodie.

That sounds awful to deal with. I'm so sorry you're having to go through that. I can technically drink from the faucet here, but the taste is so very heavily chlorinated. It's like drinking from a pool, so I stick to bottled water.

My goodness, this reminds me I need to hurry up and get a faucet filter.  I've had it on my list for a while.  We can drink our water but I've gotten in the habit of buying bottled waters.

I try not to dink the water from the faucet,  too much chlorine.  I joke when the shower/toilet smells strong that the E.coli level must be up in the lake.  I bring home some gallons of well water to drink and we keep bottle water to go to after that

I live in an area with hard water,  they say it's safe to drink the faucet water but when I pour it into a glass it's a bit cloudy. I can't drink that lol.. it just doesn't look clean enough. The water kinda looks like when you pour water into a cup that previously had milk in in it. It doesn't taste to bad but I'd rather pay the extra expense and buy bottles water. Plus, I live near an Albertson's and they have really great deals on water all the time. Makes it a lot easier to stock up on water.

No there is a fernery next to us and I would be afraid of what seeps in the water system.  Also the water stinks.  We bought a water filtration system called a Berkey and now we can drink the water after it filters.

We are able to drink our tap water here, but we don't want to because it tastes awful. You can taste chemicals like chlorine in it. the Town keeps sending us flyers that say our water quality is just great but it is difficult to believe that when the water tastes so bad. We drink bottled water and just use the water for other things.

Yes.  I can drink the water out of the tap.
We have a water filtration system in the kitchen, but you can drink the unfiltered water in the bathrooms & it is fine.

No, our water is not fit to drink.  We get notices every other month that three months prior certain contaminate levels exceeded the allowable amount in the testing they did.  We have used bottled water (Ice Mountain) for about the past 10 years for drinking and cooking.
