I try not to have much junk food around as hubby tends to eat way too much of it. And of course if there is none around i sure won't be eating any of it. But he is the one who over eats it.

I don't eat a lot of junk food but my motto is everything in moderation. Every once and a while is fine and the serving size can also be an issue. Today I had ice cream and I don't tend to worry about it as long as I keep eating healthy :rose: :rainbow: :peace:

Avoid junk food because sooner or later it will make you sick. Consult a nutritionist for a proper diet plan especially designed for you and your health problems.

I don't eat junk food any more.  Nor do I drink sodas.  I try really hard to eat healthy.  I am doing quite well.  I have lost 22 pounds.  This is a way of life.  Not a diet.  And the junk food is not worth the out come of eating it.

My problem is that I end up snaking later at night, while watching tv.  I will suddenly crave chips, or cheese and crackers, or ice cream.  Tha'ts the worse time to eat that sort of food!

I eat junk food. Sometimes way more than I think I should. It's convenient, tastes good, and cheap.

The best trick I have come up with for this same problem has been to condition myself (psychologically) into believing the artificial chemicals and flavorings in junk food are disgusting and that healthy foods taste delicious. To do this, I look for the best qualities I can find in healthy foods and focus on that positively in my mind so that I myself have a more positive view on that. Now, I can literally taste the heavy artificialness in cakes and other junk food.. :-X

I'm trying to stay away from the junk food especially chocolate but that doesn't always work.  I have been eating a nice big salad for dinner and a chocolate yogurt for dessert to satisfy my chocolate craving.

I stay away from junk food by just not buying it.   I can resist while shopping easier than I can resist the temptation when it's in my home...  after not eating that stuff for a time, your cravings will subside.   I eat clean now the majority of time & when I eat junk or anything over processed it just tastes bad, almost like soap sometimes.

This is not an easy thing to do but if you replace something healthy every day when you want junk food slowly you will come around where you might eliminate junk food altogether one day a time. Just dont rush it. Don't get discouraged even if you falter here and there set up a plan try to stick to it but dont give up

I absolutely adore all junk food although I almost never eat it. Love potato chips, Cheetos, Fritos, peanut butter and marshmallow, candy bars (especially Snickers), chocolate in almost any form, cookies, cakes, pies, you name it. Can't eat it, though - it goes directly to my midriff.

What is the nutritional value of a donut? None! I noticed fat people prefer to eat donuts...consequently they get fatter everyday. I think you should visit a nutritionist. Avoid all "junk food" in the meanwhile.

Learn to go grocery shopping after I eat meal then the junk food doesn't bother me and I can walk past it and stick to my shopping list.  Eating healthier this way.  Not saying I don't get a craving for something but then I buy a small portion and when it is gone that's it!

Hi Potluck 6! Eating "junk food" can be hazardous to your health as you probably already know!  Here are some alternatives:

. Make a smoothie in a blender with ice, berries, fresh fruit
. Make a fruit salad with fresh fruit
. Chew on carrot sticks if you crave something to chew
. Eat some raisins (very sweet!)
. Eat unsweetened applesauce

Since it is almost summer, there will be many opportunities to get fresh berries, fruits & vegetables. Farmers markets are good for that!

Start gardening to grow your own pesticide-free food!

I certainly understand! But you can't bring junk food in the house.  If you don't have the discipline to control yourself yet buy alternatives for your and your son. For sweet cravings, which I also suffer from, try dried fruit, caramel rice cakes, sweet potatoes, and so on.  Hope this helps, good luck!

Also, allow yourself one cheat meal per week.  Just one meal for that one day.  Knowing you can have it later on in the week may help.

If you are trying to eat healthier, if you have a craving, eat the food you like, then go back to eating healthier.  It's a one time thing, don't beat yourself up.

That's true, feeling overly guilty about falling off the wagon will only result in you not wanting to get back on.  Shake it off and try again.

If you are trying to eat healthier, if you have a craving, eat the food you like, then go back to eating healthier.  It's a one time thing, don't beat yourself up.

I must have some junk food each week...lol  Not daily, I always allow a window within week where I indulge in some type of junk food...burger, pizza, ice cream, cake or cookies.

I find that if you try to deprive yourself of the "goodies" it only makes you want them more.  So I don't deprive myself - just limit them.

I've given up soda but can't seem to give up the chips.  They just call my name.  I'm going to go back to kale chips and see how long that lasts.
