I hear ya.  Our mail used to come at 2:30 p.m. Now sometimes its 2:30 or 3:30 or 5:00 p.m. And I'm always getting mail that belongs to other addresses.  Sometimes I think its the mail carriers they hire.

The Post Office is limited on people they can't afford to hire to many delivery drivers as they did in the past the money just isn't there in the budget. The Time a delivery driver delievers there mail is based on the route there given. If they get it to yo late its because there route pretty much forces them to do it that way. There's no way to fix that and if they arrive early not as much mail has to be delivered that day. Postman do make mistakes and they are under staffed so its going to happen

I know it is an inconvenience. It is a minor one, however.  I get my neighbor's mail. Another neighbor gets mine. We all live in apartments. There is mail that comes for people who have passed away some years ago. That baffles me.
When there is a regular letter carrier for the route, they get familiar with the mail. When the carrier is always different, unusual things happen.
There are more important things worth getting upset about -like a mistake on one of your bills when you are overcharged or incorrectly charged.

When you are waiting for a check and think it got lost, maybe you could call the sender.
You could wait a week to ten days. It just may come soon.

Last month we went away for a few days and had our mail held. Unfortunately we could not get our held mail delivered. After several phone calls we finally got our mail.

We used to get our mail around noon and now it doesn't come until 2-3 in the afternoon.

Once in a while i get a little ticked, but it is not the post office or the carrrier. It is the stupid companies that keep sending mai for hubby's mother who has been dead 23 years and his aunt who has been gone now 3 years. I don't care how many times you tell them they are deceased they still send catalogs and  wanting donations. I have now  started  sending  all the mail they send me back with deceased  written on the  donation form in their own envelopes  and if it is postage paid envelope. Maybe they will take a hint. Tried to cancel some mags one tim and they wanted a death cer. sent. Well that isn't going to happen. It was  there money.

So get a pay pal account.  It is free.  Then transfer the money to your checking account.  I assume you are talking about a FC check here.  I didn't realize they sent those with tracking numbers.

Actually that is totally incorrect.  They do have a flex time in when they start their route.  But where you live has nothing to do with the time you get your mail.  I am on the first of our delivery driver's route.   I agree that mistakes can happen but getting your mail is a pretty big deal.

Pretty sure that is standard procedure.  Nobody was trying to ruin your day.  Most places you have to sign something to start delivery back up.  And if you were gone for quite a few days all your mail likely will not fit in the box.  Not sure why you wouldn't just go to the post office and pick it up.  It's not that big of a deal.

You need to write "return to sender" and "deceased" or whatever on the outside of the envelope.  I would not have worried about canceling a magazine.  If she died and there was time left on the subscription then she had already paid for it.  So let it continue to come.  As for renewal just don't renew it.

Personally, I very rarely have a problem with the post office .. My mail usually comes later in the day but it at least comes.

I had order things online at Christmas and they used Fed Ex for their shipping ... Now that was horrible service.

We just got a new carrier. I guess this new carrier has changed up the route because I use to get my mail in the morning and now it comes late in the evening. I much prefer to get it in the morning. As far as getting anything late I don't think I have had that problem.

Everybody make mistake. :)  But I understand what you meant when they make "mistake" all the time :)  I have it all the time... and sometime I ignore if I think it not important.  If important, I wrote the "This person is not at this address" outside the envelope :)

The post office is normally very good at what they do. Remember, they are ran by humans..... :)

We've been fairly lucky with our mail delivery.  Have the sweetest older lady who delivers.   She is quite diligent about the deliveries in our neighborhood.  Occasionally, very occasionally, a small package will be left at a neighbors house but luckily I have honest neighbors who bring it to us.  Usually when that happens I notice on the  label the printing is very tiny so I understand what happened.   My biggest problem with the Post Office is the long lines and the rudeness of the clerks that work there.

Wow that really sucks! The postal service in my area is not the best either; the customer service is fine but I had an issue with them when I was conducting business through them.  I hope your issues are resolved.

when I was running my jewelry business customers would complain that one or more of their pieces was missing from the package and I would just resend.  Then one package was rerouted to me because I put the wrong address on it and I opened it and there was a hole in the mini ziplock bag and one of the earrings was missing.  I guess they already had the match  :confused1:
