Title: Virginia residents, tax question please
Post by: southernhorizons on April 23, 2016, 08:54:49 pm
Here's a question for any FC members who live in VA and own a car, is the personal property tax really high? I've seen a few online calculators, and for a $15,000 vehicle, the estimates usually come to around $250-$300 a year! Is that really true? Do you have to pay registration, inspection, etc. on top of that? I was hoping to move there this year, but that is outrageous! Thanks in advance.

Yes I live in VA, and yes you will put out money each year for taxes, inspection, etc.   Gotta love VA.

Glad we don't have that in TN

Is it really hundreds of bucks? I thought NY was bad for taxes, but at least we don't have property tax on vehicles. We also don't have business property tax for work at home small businesses.
