I just stay at home where it is safe!

My family has a tradition on New Year's eve. Since we don't celebrate Christmas, we put up a "New Year's Tree". The kids open their presents when the clock strikes midnight (Even though they are sometimes too tired to even do that ;D) A lot of relatives come over and we have a huge dinner at home. Sometimes we hold it at a relative's house and sometimes we hold it at home. (It's really a contest between who can cook the most food!) We usually win because my step-father is a chef, haha!

I used to not go out, but since i have gotten with my fiance i have. Actually its a good thing that i started bc thats the night that we got together and its our anniversary. But hopefully when we're married we can relax and start just having parties at our house to stay in and be safe.

Yeah but I don't go to those places that charge an arm and an leg. I go out and watch fire works. I don't think I went out last year but I've been to Times Square twice on New Years Eve.

Sometimes, it depends on my job schedule because I still work in crap jobs that dont close for holidays. Currently my job is at a 24 hour call center - stupid cable companies and their thanksgiving, christmas and new years day sports, people will go nuts if their stupid cable goes down on holidays so I have to freakin work those days

we usually have a small get-together at my sister's house. we make a bunch of snacks, have some drinks and watch the ball drop. and we have this ritual of calling all the local chinese places and asking them if they have chickity china chinese chicken ;p bahaha, it's always hilarious.

In the past, I went out for New Years Eve, but any more. It is too dangerous out there now. I think more people are just doing the house parties more and more now.

i grew up just outside of pasadena, ca so as a teenager i used to go to colorado blvd on new years eve and camp out for the rose parade the next morning. but since having children, and now living farther away from pasadena, i don't do that anymore. so every other year we go to my aunt's house and we play poker and scene it! and eat, drink and be merry. and everyone stays the night at my aunt's and wakes up to a huge breakfast feast and watching the rose parade on tv. on the years that we don't do that, my husband and i stay home with the kids, maybe have a bottle of champagne (if we make it to midnight) and then next morning we make a "picnic" breakfast to be served on the living room floor while watching the parade. either way, our new year's festivities are cheaper and safer than most others!

Amateur night...I can't think of a better reason to stay in/off the streets where it's safe. LOL I just sit at home like any other evening I'd spend at home.

We stay at home and watch the ball drop, then we shoot off fireworks.
