Title: Winter already?
Post by: Nancy5 on July 07, 2016, 05:43:56 pm
I went to a home improvement store today.  Instead of seeing gas grills for sale, I saw snow blowers!  Can you believe that?  It's 95 degrees today, I think it's a little too early for snow blowers.

Bad weather will be here soon...again. Enjoy your summer while it lasts.

I think it is a little too early too, but I notice many stores start putting out things for the new season, two and three months ahead of time. I don't understand why so early.

Define what you mean by "soon".  It is the beginning of JULY people!

Maybe they are looking for Boy Scout Leaders who practice Be Prepared.

I think its sickening how they start the next season before the current one is even half over. I even had trouble finding a pair of flip flos a couple weeks ago, when my old pair cracked and I had to get rid of it.

YES! That is way too early! Probably trying to get rid of old models for cheaper sale price! They do that with grills in the winter too! lol

Summer things are on sale so they can make room for heaters and winter items.  Now is the time to get some summer items and still be able to use them for the season ends.

Most grills are sold months ago. Three of the biggest grill days of the summer are over. Most people who wanted to buy grills already did. Choosing not to restock them at this point is just logical.

Know the feeling....stores here are in such a rush to get to the next holiday that they don't get to enjoy the ones that are at the current time!

I agree.....we tend to always be living for tomorrow.  Take time to enjoy today.
Yes, I do want the snowblowers and winter clothing available before the cold weather gets here, but July seems too early .

Maybe it feels like winter in some states already or the store is getting an early start on selling winter products   ???

They are already trying to get rid of the overstock of summer clothes , the stores don't want to have to inventory all of it and carry it over until the next year as the new styles  would be in and the old style would not sell unless of course  it was at a reduced rate . And you would be suprised at how  fast some of the winter merchandise  sell in the winter and a lot of times peole wait until they really need something in the winter and  lo and behold the stores are sold out.

Not sure where you live but I know i won't see that around here.  It's been around 100 and will continue to be.  And oh yeah, we don't have snow blowers for sell anytime of year.  No need...no snow.

I have not seen anything like that.  Our home improvement stores still have summer stuff out.

I live in the high desert of N.M. We don't get a lot of snow but it can come a 3-4 footer when we least expect it. Right now it is  hard to think about winter items as we have been in the triple digits the last 14 days. The rest of the week is not looking to great either,  Maybe a couple of days in the high 90's. But what the heck not much difference. It is hot.

I can't wait for the winter, and I have a very good reason why! Me and my boyfriend are into snowmobiling and last year, I bought my very first snowmobile. Well it barely snowed, only enough for us to go two times, and we had to travel up to Maine from Massachusetts, so it was a bummer of a winter. I'm praying this year brings enough snow for us to snowmobile at least 2 times a month, that way I can finally get some good use out of my purchase!

Hopefully they are offering a great discount on snow blowers, or maybe just trying to unload left over stock from the Winter season to replace it with new merchandise.
