Title: Poor Ronald McDonald
Post by: Nancy5 on October 12, 2016, 02:30:18 pm
I just saw on tv, with all the crazy clown stories going around lately Ronald McDonald is being kept under wraps by McDonalds and his public appearances are very limited.  That's sad news for the kids.

The idiots that are going around in clown suits are causing all sorts of problems, i have a nephew and niece  now afraid of clowns, where they used to love them and laugh at the antics. so sad that something  funny now is is something to fear.

Ronald has been under wraps for years! along with Grimace, the Hamburglar, Birdie and Ronald's other friends. The reason as the story goes, was that these characters enticed kids to beg their parents to take them to Mcdonalds and hence creating or at least contributing to child obesity. If Liberals and the Nanny state always got their way, no one would ever have any fun! Even Santa Clause isn't safe from these creeps.

He's a little creepy if you think about it. It's time McDonald's comes it with a new and fresh mascot.

I remember Bob Bell and Bozo the Clown show.
I grew up in Chicago.
It might have been a Chicago show for children.
I am not sure if the whole nation knew about him.

All because people have nothing better to do than think of bad and evil to perpetuate on the world.  I just can't figure people out - wow what would happen if they spent that much time and effort thinking of good to do !

I remember Bozo the Clown too....I grew up in Iowa.

I remember when clowns were FUN and kids loved them.  Circus clowns and their funny antics made everyone happy.

Why people have to ruin the clown is beyond me.

Wow.  lol.  I had not heard that.  I actually did not know Ronald McDonald made public appearances.  The best way to stop this clown non-sense is for people who are supposedly threatened by clowns is to defend themselves against the threat.

You can thank the news media for that and the people who just have to " Know " that any of this is happening. If it was not being reported then everyone's favorite clown who promotes obesity would be just fine.

That is sad news but it is smart to keep him and the company safe.

Well, I'm a 48 year adult and I've always thought clowns were a bit creepy. If you ask me, anyone who continually wheres a mask and disquises himself as someone else, or something else, has something to answer for. We just don't appear to live in an innocent age anymore where things are taken on face value, and so I have always talked to my kids about things not always being as they appear, not to always trust what they see or believe everything they hear. You might think that I am a crazy mom who is going to end up with troubled kids, but actually, at 10 and 12 they are becoming very well grounded individuals.

I doubt kids who've been taught to question things are going to end up "troubled". It's the ones who HAVEN'T been taught to question that are, in my mind, apt to be troubled when they realize things aren't what they think they are!

As for these "killer clowns"... thank the news media for perpetuating the stories of so called "killer clowns" for the continuation of "killer clown" appearances. For my money, people just need to get a life, both the ones actually fearful of said clowns and the ones dressing up as said clowns. Just because someone wears a creepy outfit doesn't mean they're actually going to do anything.

It all boils down to selling the news.

Ronald McDonald is still around. He's been shelved for the Halloween season until all this clown craze has died down. I wish the other Mcdonaldland characters can be used but there's a lawsuit against them from long ago, I believe.

That is such a sad story.  It is so bad that someone would take something that most kids think are fun and turn it in to something that does bad things.

Ronald been around a long time and a few nuts come along to spoil things.  I wonder how the circus will handle this because they always have clowns.  Even clown schools will suffer, who wants to go and can't get a job.

I never liked clowns....but for some reason, Ronald McDonald never creeped me out.  I rarely eat at McDonalds, until I saw this topic, I hadn't realized that.   :D

It's a shame people have to be so stupid and ruin things for others.

You know, I hadn't thought about the effect these strange clown-inspired killings would have on business, such as McDonalds. As far back as I could remember, I've always had this love-hate relationships with clowns. But John Wayne Gacy and these murders definitely swung me towards the hatred spectrum. Nevertheless, not the Ronald. He is the epitome of McDonalds. :-(

I'm sure Ronald McDonald will survive but I'm also sure they need to catch those who are so stupid and perverted as to use a "clown costume" to do their "dirty deeds"!!!  Revolting!
