Do you wait to announce news after the holidays? Does the type of news make a difference? Do you think it's poor taste / attention seeking / bad judgement to announce news right before or during the holidays? Do you think a person should wait until after the holidays? Even if it's personal or small news?

this is a tough question --i do think it depends on the news and how it will effect people --each person must make that decision of whether to wait or not --thats my thought anyways !!

Indeed, since waiting is an inevitable part of life, knowing how to wait patiently when necessary is a mark of a mature person.
Of course, there are urgent situations where impatience is understandable. A young husband rushing his wife to the hospital because their new baby is on its way would justifiably be impatient about delays. The angels urging Lot to leave Sodom were not prepared to wait while Lot delayed. Destruction was imminent, and the lives of Lot and his family were at stake. (Genesis 19:15, 16) In most cases, however, lives are not at stake when people are forced to wait. In those cases, things could be much more pleasant if everyone learned to be patient—even if the waiting was caused by someone’s inefficiency or lack of interest. Moreover, it would be easier to be patient if everyone learned how to use the time spent waiting in a profitable way.

it depends on the news if its good news tell it.If its bad news maybe wait until after the holiday so they don't get ruined. I would hate to get bad news near Christmas would be hard to shop and wrap presents, shop for food,Christmas cards out some things like that are already annoying.

That is a tough decision to make. I think it may depend on the news your bringing. It may also depend on how it may affect the lives of one or many. You have to think that one out and be sure of your decision of whether to tell now or later.

In order to answer that question, I would have to know the situation. If it was not an emergency situation that could wait, I would wait simply to allow other to enjoy the holiday.

I guess it depends on the news. If it is a dreaded news, I would wait. We are making a big announcement this Thanksgiving. We will find out Wednesday evening if we are having a grandson or a granddaughter in April. I am making cupcakes to reveal to the family.

Hard decision, is it emotional for you only, does it need attention, would it turmoil otherone's holiday, really could it wait, if it could wait wait. If you need to proclaim the news do it.

I think it depends on the type of news and who is around when the news is being announced. Sometimes I think it would be okay to deliver news.

My mom died 12/18/92.......it didnt matter Xmas was only a week away...it was going to be sad no matter what the date was!!

Really depending on what kind of news it is. If it is a death then I wouldn't wait.

That is a tough question depending on the type of news. Only you can decide the right time to share the news to the people or person you need to share it with. Good luck and happy thanksgiving!

I decided to announce the news a few days after Thanksgiving. I was offered more permanent work. So its good news!

The holidays are just another day for me nothing special. I don't have any announcements to make but if I did it wouldn't matter if it was a holiday or not.
