Title: Muppet Babies
Post by: Cbsteffen on January 08, 2017, 07:09:37 pm
Did you ever watch Muppet Babies? I loved that show. For those of you who didn't know, the idea of the show came from the scene from the movie The Muppets Take Manhattan where Miss Piggy apologized for saying she wished she never met Kermit and then started to wish she had met him when they were much younger, so she dreamed she met Kermit, Gonzo, Fozzie, Scooter and Rowlf as babies. Do you think Muppet Babies would've been better if that show had been live action just like the scene in The Muppets Take Manhattan instead of animated, or do you think the show was good enough animated?

I liked the animated show. I thought it was cute. Didn't know how about how it got started.

I've never watched the show, but the merchandise they have with the muppet babies is absolutely adorable. :)

I remember the show as a kid. It was very inventive, using clips from big movies of the day such as Star Wars & Temple of Doom to facilitate the Babies fantasies. I'm surprised they never did something with the Muppet Babies in live action by now. It seems a no-brainer.

I said in my introductory post that Muppet Babies got started after Miss Piggy dreamed about meeting other Muppets at a much younger age in The Muppets Take Manhattan, and that was live action. If you're going to reply to a discussion, please make sure you read the whole introductory post carefully and ask if you don't know for sure about something you only assume.

Woah, easy there, Tex. Lay the pistols down! I read the whole post. I said I was surprised they never did anything with the Muppet Babies in live action- meaning beyond that 5 minute segment in Muppets take Manhattan. It seemed made to order for a direct to video movie at least. But they've done nothing with those Muppets in 30 odd years.

You know you're OG if you remember the show was originally Muppet Babies & Monsters.  ;)  How many of you remember that? The "monster" portion was traditional Muppets, while the Muppet Babies were the cartoon. After like- one season, they axed the Monster segments and just stuck with the cartoon.
