Title: Women's March - Opinion?
Post by: sfreeman8 on January 23, 2017, 11:04:15 am
What did you think of Madonna's remarks? I understand she is now under investigation for her "bomb threat" which, even if it was just a form of speech, bomb threats are taken seriously, especially federal buildings and officials.   How about the women who wore costumes fashioned as a v_____? What about the women who used the f-bomb all the time (to me sounded like truckers).

What about Ashley Judd and others who grabbed their body parts?

What DO these women want? 75% of them didn't know or want the rights they already have.

I, for one, found most of the "speakers" disgustingly vulgar and really doesn't help the women's cause, whatever it may be. Then they wonder why they don't get any respect.

Then there's Friday's "protests" that turned into rioting and destruction of private properties. According to D.C. law, they are federal land and any rioting with destruction of property is a federal offense. Any protests wearing masks is forbidden. The Anarchists did both, and they should have the book thrown at them with the stiffest fines and jail times, don't you?

You can't have chaos like this in this country. They've been getting away with it for years and it's time it stops. They want chaos and civil war.  I agree with what the D.C. law enforcement did this weekend. It wasn't just D.C. police; it included FBI, DHS, National Guard, Secret Service, and other law enforcement groups covering the protests and security.

I think many of these woman are afraid of losing abortion rights or planned parenthood  money. I think american woman have rights compared to woman in other countries. Well Madonna said a stupid thing from anger and don't think she meant it. Trump is promising alot will see how he does. Must admit that hundreds of thousands who demonstrated did so  for different reasons . We do need to0 watch Trump and you know we are. If the healthcare name was Trumpcare he'd be ok with it so just change the name  .

I think this is one of the best articles that explains why the women's march was empowering. https://medium.com/@dinachka82/about-your-poem-1f26a7585a6f#.cjvil8sgc

Either way the protest was peaceful and well-meaning, so there is no reason to insult them. If you don't agree or don't understand why they were protesting, that is a different story. But they seem to have a pretty clear idea why they marched and shouldn't be shamed.

I did not insult them. They insulted themselves by doing what they did. Evidently, they have no respect for themselves, yet expect respect from others.

This March was more about losing the election, than about women's issues...........and very divisive.

I've marched in solidarity marches in Los Angeles for various things...   I have no problems with protests, demonstrations, etc... as long as they are non-violent & don't block streets, or hinder business from doing business.    It's the American way :)

From what I heard they didn't allow any women to march that didn't agree with them.

How is that right? ::)

They basically embarrassed themselves by behaving worse than the person they were supposedly offended by.

The March was peaceful.  The point was made.  In my view, the women seemed angry.

It was one big sore losers' fest.  They didn't represent me.

I did not see the Women's March. Women have gone a long way from the past. I am not sure if the anger is entirely based on one issue. For me it should be about fairness and equality for all and not just for a certain gender. It is idealistic since the argument is that the dominant gender holds all the keys but then again...there is this quote,  "behind every successful man, there is a woman." So who is really in charge? or is it just a misguided quote used to make woman feel better supporting their man?

Madonna is a psycho Kabbalah witch that openly brags about it. Someone should smack her.

That's a very good article.  We tend to forget that it hasn't been that long ago that women were property.  In THIS country.
