Just heard Mary Tyler Moore passed away at 80 years. She played Laura to Rob on the Richard Van Dyke show. It was really called *bleep* Van Dyke, but it won't allow me to write *bleep*. She also starred in her own show Mary Tyler Moore Show. RIP

So sad. :(

I am sure she will be missed.

She will be greatly missed. I still watch her show on weekends on ME TV

Loved MTM. She was an icon for the women's movement very early on.
-
sorry to hear of her passing was a fine actress

Danny Thomas' daughter, Marlo Thomas [no, she isn't dead] has been a role model too with her series "That Girl". she is doing great work with St. Jude's. I think she started her own show I have seen videos on youtube.
Sally Field was/ is another admirable role model

She and D VanD made a TV movie a while back about living in a senior home.

she was so beautiful when I was a kid, she'll be missed

It's weird, because just these past few days (before I found out she had passed), I was thinking about a short article I had read on her in Reader's Digest when she was 64. She was talking about how she tries to stay active every day and rides her horses. I guess this is the first big celebrity death this year...? :sad1: :'( :rose:

I loved Mary Tyler Moore and the shows "*bleep* Van Dyke" and "Mary Tyler Moore". She was so very talented. So sad that she had such a hard time with her diabetes.
-
I remember watching her while I was growing up on the mary Tyler Moore show. It is funny that you remember her from that and it is hard to believe she was 80
-
Very sad. She lived a long life and inspired lots of women. RIP.

RIP Mary....Great Actress.............
-
Honestly, the only time I feel old is when another Actor or Actress I grew up watching passes away. It's so sad all these wonderfully great actors and actress like Mary Tyler Moore have to die and leave us with a new generation that couldn't act to save their life. She was one of the Greats and those of us whom love watching real actors and actresses will miss her dearly.

Sure it will. D-i-c--k Van Dyke. And I have been watching a marathon of Mary Tyler Moore show on ME-TV.

I was heartbroken when I learned about the death of Mary Tyler Moore. I hadn't followed up on her in recent years, however, the last time I did, I knew that she was struggling with diabetes. She was a major advocate in the proper management of juvenile diabetes as well. She was a very inspiring individual. RIP to "Laura Petrie" (her memorable character on the *bleep* Van Dyke show).
-
I used to watch her a lot on TV. But it's sad she passed away.
-
Her passing came out of nowhere but I guess that's how it usually happens.
-
I wasn't really a fan when she was popular, I was into cartoons & comic books then but I credit her for being the icon to the rise of women's rights. Where today a lot of young women will never truly understand what oppression really meant just because you were born a woman! Thank you Mary Tyler Moore! RIP!
-
She was an inspiration to all women as the first to show that women could do more then just being a house wife
-
so sad. :bad:
-
A legend!
-
God bless her soul. She was surely an Icon back in her days while she was young. Condolences to her family and may she rest is peace!
-
I only saw a few re-runs of the Mary Tyler Moore show. So I didnt really watch her too much. But still sad...RIP.

I used to watch The Mary Tyler Moore Show every Saturday night without fail. The actors in that show were so unbelievably perfectly matched, the writing outstanding, and I enjoyed every minute of it, particularly the Chuckles the Clown Has Died episode. Mary Tyler Moore was also outstanding in the film Ordinary People.
