Title: phone calls
Post by: Gerianne on February 05, 2017, 07:31:38 am
I get phone calls from an emergency service telling me to be on the lookout for someone and afterward I get a detailed description of the suspect. The other night, an autistic boy was lost.
Some of these phone calls give me a police report. I know these calls are to reach out to someone who might find the missing person.
I delete and block these calls. My list for blocked calls rotates.

I do not get emergency calls but do get those Amber alerts when a child is missing.

I remember getting a emergency call some years ago when the local bank was robbed and suspect was seen heading in the direction of a school that was still in session.  I guess parents would want to know about this immediately rather than find out from their kids later that their school was in lock down.

I don't get phone alerts, but I get email alerts.

I've never had anyone call me like that before. I do get those amber alerts. It always scares me since my phone makes this screeching noise.

I, too, have never gotten a phone call like this.  I assume you have to opt in for these type calls.  I'm afraid it would be too disturbing to get those alerts.  I do get the amber alerts through email and I always read them to see if I can help.  Wouldn't it be something to spot one of those missing children!

The closest I get to that are Amber Alerts on my cell phone.

I get the call/alerts on my cell phone.  I do not think I signed up for it, it just happens.

I don’t find AMBER alerts to be annoying. Everyone who carries a mobile phone will receive these alert messages on their phone. Not all of these emergencies are related to kidnappings. I appreciate they can also alert you of harsh weather conditions ahead of time.
