So I am trying to not drink so much soda and more water. I'm drinking lemon water now. So refreshing.
-
Excellent decision. I make up a pitcher of water with lemons and limes every night and refrigerate. The next day I am refresed with this no cal drink!
-
I drink pretty much water, but I also drink soda everyday. I've got to stop that, but I look forward to it when I'm watching tv at night.
-
A company figured this problem out for those of us who just can't break away from soda is Zevia a naturally sweetened soda, non GMO and no other nasty stuff. I had it last week the cola is great the rootbeer rocks and I'm going to get more. Its pretty spendy but better than the junk in other diet sodas so the cost I think is worth it.
-
I have cut way back on soda and only drink it about once a month. My go to drink is bottled water but it by the case.
-
Agreed I love the refreshing after taste the lemon and limes make, very good diet food.
-
I love to drink water with a lemon... I stop drinking sodas a long time ago.
-
The problem with sodas is: Too many dangerous chemicals that can harm humans.
Now: Good news! You can make "water infusions". What are these? In a pitcher.
place some of your favorite fresh cut fruits. Some stores like Carrs/Safeway have
them in the salad bar: watermelon, honey dew and cantaloupe cubes, peaches,
strawberries and much more. Add some mint leaves, parley leaves...if you want.
Now enjoy!
-
Try also to drink tea... maybe some decaf... or a detox... all helps! And all is a greater substitute to soda!
-
I cut out soda a long time ago. I mostly drink water and tea (unsweetened). I also like flavored sparking water as long as it doesn't have added sugar or artificial sweeteners.
-
Drink water live better ;)
-
Good for you! We need water to survive not soda. I quit drinking soda over 5 years ago and it was the best decision of my life! You will see your bloated belly go down ...lol.
-
Excellent decision. I have been drinking water for so long that I do not find water refreshing.
-

I also look forward to the glass of soda. Do you find that you enjoy the soda even more if you don't have it as often?

Great idea! I might have to try more than just lemons.

I don't like tea. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Thanks and seeing my bloated belly go down will be a huge plus. :)
-
I try to drink more every day but don't always get there
-
Water infusion is naturally flavored water.
-
I keep a pitcher of water in the fridge since I like drinking cold water. I'm pretty good at staying away from soda, but there are some food that I really can't resist pairing with soda.. Like pizza, I just can't eat pizza with water >.<
-
Water does a body good!
-
Lemon infused in water does quench thirst. It is good you are substituting lemon water over soda as it provides health benefits in maintaining proper pH balance in your body.
-
hey people
-
good idea water is better for your health
-
I try to drink water daily.
-
Lemon water is great. I drink a cup ever day. I also like green tea and various other herbal teas. I do like my soda still, but I have one every other day as opposed to every day. It's not perfect but it works. I get more water that way.
-
I drink water all of the time. Put some lemon and sweet n low and you have a calorie free refresher. :)
-
me too...i have cut way back on my diet drinks..started adding some flavored waters to my daily routine...and lots of plain water
-
I wish you all the best with that. Besides water is much better for you than soda. I haven't had soda in over 18 years. You can do it.
-
I do drink water but have this weird reaction when drinking, it makes me gag, not sure why. I find if I drink water from a bottle, or use a straw in a glass of water it helps
I try to limit my soda to one a month when I have pizza, I used to drink 3-4 cans of coke a day, but Im positive it caused most of my health problems
-
I've tried to decrease my soda intake somewhat. It's my only weakness I'm afraid!
-
So I am trying to not drink so much soda and more water. I'm drinking lemon water now. So refreshing.
I "gave up" soda for Lent. I plan to give it up for good. I know soda doesn't have anything good in for me.
I too like a slice of lemon in my water.
-
As I am trying hard to lose 30 pounds, I too continue to promise myself to drink more water (and less sugary beverages). In fact, it was one of my New Year's resolutions...but to no avail. I literally have to force myself (and talk myself in) to drinking more water.
-
Drinking so many sodas isn't good for you, i only drink water, then if i had a taste for some juice, then i'll drink fruit punch or orange juice, but some strong sodas are good to help with digestion, like making you burp.
-
Try adding other fruits and veggies to your water to make it taste better.
-
Water with lemon's a good drink! I drink that too! :)
-
Water is the best! Personally, I can (and prefer to) drink it without flavor but I LOVE sparkling water! It tastes amazing. For anyone trying to stop drinking soda, sparkling water might be a good alternative
-
That's really good - keep it up! I almost never drink soda now, and have small drinks of water throughout the day. Doing it that way keeps you hydrated, helps with digestion, and helps lower eye pressure (which is important for me, as I have glaucoma).
-
I used to drink a can of Diet Coke virutally every day. Now I'm lucky to have a soda once a month! Definitely saw improvements in my skin.
-
Water is probably my favorite thing to drink.
-
That is a great move! I never really was big on soda, but sometimes I can't help but crave it.
-
The only time I drink pop (soda) is when I have an upset stomach and I really don't like water that much but I force myself to drink it you are suppose to divide your weight by 2 and that's how many ounces of water you should drink every day
-
I am trying to purchase the Kangen machine so I can get the proper nutrients.
-
i too drink a lot of water at work.
-
Yes cutting out any sugary drink even if it's iced tea is very beneficial. It has helped me lose weight!
-
Drinking water is a great . I also like adding lemon or lime to it too. But once in a while I still have that craving for soda. But I can snap myself out of it. However, I still drink soda occasionally.
-
Years ago I used to drink nothing but soda. Now I drink nothing but water and my cup of coffee in the morning. I thought it would be hard to do but it was easy!
-
water s a good choice try to drink several glasses a day.
-
Drink more water lost few pounds it works.
-
I love water, but sometimes I like to mix it up by doing "fruit infused" water. Like with cucumbers, strawberries, other berries, etc.
-
My doctor wanted me off soda as well. The problem is water has no taste so putting a lemon in it is a good call. I do that myself. I just can't stand the taste of food on-top of bland liquid to digest. I used to drink 7up so for me putting a lemon in the water tricks my mind into thinking I'm still drinking 7up. I really can't drink plain water unless I've been doing some kind of physical activity. But I can't just drink it to drink it.
-
Good for you! I love to drink water. When I need something a little more I also add lemons. I have a few water pitchers in my refrigerator: one with lemons, one with cucumbers (very refreshing after yoga), and one with limes.
-
That a good thing, me i drink water when i wake up its good for digestion and cleansing the body
-
So I am trying to not drink so much soda and more water. I'm drinking lemon water now. So refreshing.
I was doing really good at the beginning of the year with drinking lemon water, but I fell off and have been drinking pop a lot lately. I live with other people, so it's hard for me to resist.
-
I have started drinking more water also, I buy the sugar free packets of flavors to add. I like the crystal light
-
I'm mostly a water drinker. I rarely drink soda.
-
thats a great idea

I used to drink Zevia! But this was years ago. :) This month actually marks 3 full years that I haven't drank any soda. My body just feels terrible when I drink the stuff. I stick to water, and sometimes herbal tea. Much better for you! Zevia is always a better alternative to major brand sodas, though.
-
That's dynamite, drinking too much water is not good for you either 8)
-
it's hard. but once you get started it gets easier
-
Yes! Try to drink more water and less sugary drinks.
-
Where do you buy lemon water? I don't think I've ever seen it in Costco or BJ's which is where we buy our bottle water. I am trying to drink more water too. It is very good for the body to drink water on a regular basis.
-
Good that's the best thing you can do. Stay away from soda.
-
Well now I just did a survey telling me the FDA has found new stuff out on the fake sugar and now it's ok ...... I don't buy that for a second!
-
Water is basically what i drink, but sometimes fruit punch, kool ade, lemon ade, ice cold tea.
-
uggg,i relly need to do the same thing,,,,,,,,, :peace:
-
Good decision.I don't drink soda anymore and i feel much better.
-
you are soooooooo right need to drink more water then soda
-
I don't drink soda. I only drink water using a filter and different teas.
-
Another alternative if you don't like the taste of plain water is to drink carbonated water. I use a Soda Stream machine to make it and I don't put any of the sugary additives in it. I just drink it plain.
I know some people hate the taste of it :P, but I and my Sig O love the taste of it and we drink much more water. 8)
:fish:
-
Congrats! Drinking water is one of the single best things you can do for your health.
-
I have been doing that for a few weeks now too, and so much healthier for you as well, keep it up!
-
Definitely. I used to drink soda's (Mt Dew in particular) all day long and never realized that it (the soda) was making me sick. Until I started drinking water more and now I love water. Both of my girls are water drinkers as well. I drink one (8 oz) soda day for the caffeine and to quinch my 'taste' for the fizzy drink. But always water.
-
I made a conscious decision to eliminate soda a month ago. It's hard but I don't miss it that much. But I guess it's cheater if I indulge in a 7-11 slurpee once in a while.
-
I haven't had any soda in over 8 years. always drank 7Up then I went to diet 7Up and then just stopped drinking it altogether. Have mostly gotten away from drinking or eating anything with caffeine in it. lost about 10 pounds when i stopped drinking soda also
-
Well my stomach did shrink so YAY !!!
-
Soda is so bad for you. Water is the best thing for you.
-
Sam's Club flavored water is an excellent substitute.
-
I drink a lot of water per day but my friend drinks more soda per day Lol and his health is all over the place, I keep telling him to drink more H2o but I guess its his life.
-
I stopped drinking very much soda over 15-20 years ago. When I do occasionally feel the urge for one, a few sips usually satisfies me and any more than that just tastes overly sweet! Water is just about the only drink that adequately satisfies me when I am really thirsty!
-
I love water i drink water everyday, i do drink a soda for time to time, but i am more of a water person
-
I rarely drink soda. I drink water alot. I drink beer though. Lol
-
I only drink soda when I am really having a craving for it. My problem is juice! I have tried to limit my juice intake and drink more water...it's just so hard!! Even watered down juice doesn't taste the same!
-
that is a really good idea.
-
You could also make yourself a nice hot cup of tea now and then to get some more water hydration. I love to have a cup in the middle of the afternoon with a cookie or two.
-
So am I, but it is so hard. I will keep trying, wish me luck
-
I don't drink sodas any more since I had a bleeding ulcer last year. I only drink water, coffee, tea and milk.
Besides cokes and other drinks are not good for you. Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless you and keep you safe. :)
-
I drink a lot of water is healthy for you
-
Yes! That is something I am working on to especially since the soda tax. It's pushing for a more healthier lifestyle.
-
I drink water all the time. I stopped drinking soda a while ago because of my teeth. I really don't miss it very much.
