Did you ever like the silent picture era?
I find myself watching these as I do
enjoy silent films as well as many others
It's always good to have a wide range of
selections you like..

I've never seen a silent movie. It's not something I'd ever be interested in. I prefer movies from the late 40's, the 50's and the 60's.

I have watched many of them. It took very intensive acting to put
some of those silent movies together.

The Charlie Chaplin films are kind of cute to watch. That's about the extent of my silent film watching.

Depends on the film. My favorite has always been The Phantom Of the Opera with Lon Chaney.

Years ago when our local theater reconditioned the pipe organ, they played a silent film.  We had a guest organist play the organ to accompany the silent film.

It was sensational!  The organist was a bit of a showman.  He would play the scary parts or the suspenseful parts of the movie with quite a bit of drama.  Several times, the organist spun around in a circle on his little piano stool.

Our theater started out with Vaudeville shows, then silent movies.  Now the theater has upgraded to the digital projection systems.  We also produce live theater twice a year on the stage.

It is listed on the National Register of Historical sites.  I love this theater!

Silents aren't my favorite thing; due to having to convey the story non-verbally, some can tend to get a bit repetitive. If anyone's looking to try a silent film, Charlie Chaplin is the way to go.

I love so many films.... I do love silent films. I kind of dislike the 'golden age of hollywood', as it's interesting/meaningful to watch once in a while but not really my cup of tea. I'm into indie stuff anyways, so guess I'm not into mainstream from any era.

I don't even care for closed caption because of all that reading and trying to focus on the acting.  I watch mostly old westerns like Gunsmoke, Andy, Rawhide, etc.

Watching silent films has its own unique charm. :in-love: I do enjoy watching the black and white Silent Films dated back in the 20s Pre-Talkies Era.

Maybe its my age (32), but no.  No, not at all.  Now way could i sit through a whole one of those.  I remember a couple of years ago, there was a silent movie that won the Oscar for best picture.  Blew my mind personally.
