Do you have a song that brings back specific memories? Are they good memories or bad? If like me, you have a song or two that brings back both positive experiences and negative situations in your life.
For me, one of the songs that brings back a great time in my life is Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through The Grapevine." How I danced and had fun at that naive, great time in my life! On the other hand, Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" takes me back to the depths of despair at times. It was a very sad time in my life that will always haunt me a bit.
What about you?

Yeah, some songs manage to trigger memories for me. So many songs that I couldn't even begin to name them.

Two songs come to mind immediately. The first is "Two is Better Than One" by Boy like Girl. It is bittersweet because it was my ex's and my song before our relationship went sour. The second is "Nietzche's Eyes" by Paula Cole. It is also bittersweet because it was my cue to start the show when I performed in my first stage play. It made me nervous but brings back happy memories.

Hello! :D :)
I definitely have songs that bring back both good and bad memories. For instance Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Britney Spears, all take me back to my highschool days when things were a lot more simpler. Where I would rush home just to catch trl and check out all the new artist. As I got into romance and relationships I have songs that remind me of my heart break which is definitely not fun. Overall music set the tone to my life, it's my life. :rose:

Hello! :D :)
I love two is better than one, that song bring back so many memories. The must songs that really impacted my life were love songs. When I hear them I get so dreamy and nostalgic, I'm a hopeless romantic. Thanks for sharing.

i don't really have a specific song that have meanings, i am partial to the old school songs, none of that stuff they have now, explicit and unsavory words, just good old fashion songs.

I do have some songs that take me back to a happier time when I was in love, but sad too that I wont ever get to spend time with that person again

One song that brings back memories for me is "Driving My Life Away", I believe it was by Eddie Rabbit back in the 80's. When that was popular a friend of mine was in a car accident and was killed and he loved that song. He was driving and he was pretty wild and a crazy driver, so that song really hit home when I heard it right after I found out he was gone. It made me think he wanted me to hear it just for him.

My high school song, wedding song and ones I think about of other people due to share situations. Some are happy and other are song memories of mine.

That's what I love about music. It has the ability to plunge you back into the time and space and moment when you first heard it. Almost all the 1960's oldies send me back to high school feelings. I must have listened to the radio constantly back then. Specific songs bring back specific triggers, and I find it pretty incredible that I an transported back to those same exact feelings that I experienced back then.

There are a ton of songs that bring out a lot of memories for me. Music is a wonderful way of relating to the world.

I have several songs that I connect to memories. First time I heard George Strait's 'Check Yes or No' I was sitting in the audience waiting for 'It's academic' to start. I was on the Yearbook staff in high school so it was my assignment, and my brother was Captain of the debate team. Another song that brings back memories is Conway Twitty's 'Blue Eyes crying in the rain'. Whenever I hear it I get an image of my grandmother Jennie (passed away six years ago) standing at the kitchen sink while I was sitting at the table facing her. She turned to me while it played on her cassette player and said, "I don't know what it is, but whenever I play this song why does it always seem to rain?"

There some songs that if I hear on the radio I have to turn it off because they came out during the time if the deaths of my grandmother and father. Luckily the songs are old so I don't hear them often.

Too many to mention. But being its Memorial Day and so many lives were lost in Vietnam War for nothing,The Smothers Bros did a show in 1967 or 68 that asked the question why?
And The Association vocal band backed it singing their song "Requiem for the masses"
