some people want to have different exercise machines in their home to assist them in their exercise routine.
some simply go out for a jog.
squats and ankle rotations are easy, stimulate circulation and require no equipment.

It depends on your goals. You're suppose to do strength training as just part of a regular exercise routine but certain body types/goals are going to require more than others. That's why people end up skinny fat because they just do a bunch of cardio to lose/maintain weight but are flabby and still have a higher percentage of fat compared to muscle although they make be smaller.

my fancy exercise stuff has cob webs and now serves as a hat rack since I fell down my cement steps on the ice. :( and i now use my fancy walker got one for inside and one for outside so i don't have to try and get it down the steps and crash again.

I have a cousin who has exercise equipment in her bedroom, the one where you stand on and walk and run on, don't know if she still have it, she lost a lot of weight doing that. But i think it also depends on eating right too.
-
I have a Schwinn Airdyne bike which helped me lose 40lbs and I'm still maintaining 2 years later. Now I keep up with cardio and strength-training.
-
I like to keep things simple so you know where I am with this. I think if you want excise equipment, go to the gym. It is cheaper in more ways than one in the long run.
-
We have a spin bike and an elliptical that my daughter wanted and now she never uses it. She joined a gym but whenever I tell her I am going to try and sell them she throws a fit.

You dont need any equipment to go running. It's literally the cheapest way to get exercise
-
I use resistance bands. They are cheap.

My treadmill just clunked out after 8 years so I'll be hitting the track soon for a good old fashion jog around the community center.
-
I have a gym membership through my health insurance and I go there in the winter. The rest of the year, I'm a hiker and a kayaker. Much prefer that over machines.
-
I walk 3-4 miles a day and so strength exercises with weights 3 - 4 x a week
-
lunges are a really good exercise to do without a machine as well
-
I prefer running because it requires no equipment, no partner (like tennis does), no special hours you can or cannot go, and you can run wherever you'd like to see certain scenery like ponds, streams, flowers, etc. I have been doing it since my late 40's and hope to be able to keep on with it into my 80's.
-
I pondered a gym membership for a second when my treadmill went out but I don't think so- I'll just walk paven roads.
-
i have a treadmill..havent used it much since i found out i had menieres..but am planning on it on my good days
-
I have exercise equipment, put they are not fancy at all. I am a shame to say it, but I rarely use them. I am so lazy to do exercise even though I desperately need it.
-
Bleh, I am by no means an outdoorsy person. I would rather spend the extra money for a convenient in-home gym. Thus far, I have a treadmill, a stationary bike, some dumbbells, and a few exercise DVDs. I am content, LOL.
-
I have my own exercise equipment, I use it mostly for the Winter months. I love exercising in the morning, such as doing my fitness walks. Getting in touch with nature is great.
-
I have a stationary exercise bike and I love using an elliptical trainer but I have to have a gym membership to use an elliptical trainer. I really don't care about the other equipment.
Sometimes it's just nice to get out in nature and take a long walk.

If having a fancy exercise equipment in your home motivates you to exercise more, I think it's worth it.
-
It depends on your desires, needs, and what you know you will use. Some people can't run due to physical issues. Running is hard on knees, feet, and ankles. A lot of impact! Walking is pretty safe for everybody but some people live where the weather doesn't permit much of the year. It's preference!!

i dont like spending money to exercise especially on gym memberships or exercise machines. A good pair of shoes is all you need..go for walk or jog.
-
I just got a free 3 day gym pass in Texas as a part of a paid offer, ironically I really need it right now bc my treadmill went out but it's too far away : (
-
i dont have any equipment at home,,,,,,,,,
-
We gave all the big equipment to Goodwill because it became a hat rack. I enjoy walking, working in the yard and garden.
-
All I need is a Bench with weights and a treadmill.

It's all about what you are trying to accomplish. You can get a good workout in without the use of any equipment. But it's a completely different type of workout that you could get with exercise equipment.
