I hear that you can make about $80 every 8 hours. I'm curious. The extra cash would be nice.
-
What are there price rates? I've always been interested in using them (not driving for them)
-
I know they have no drivers near my location. I would email Uber directly (find that on the site) for questions about working for them.
-
I am not a driver but at that rate, it looks like a good idea.
-
My sons girlfriend works for lyft, she loves it.Does it on the weekends. You can make some good money she says.
-
I think it really depends on what time you are driving. The rates change on say... Saturday nights as opposed to a Wednesday at noon. You have people leaving bars on the weekend and not wanting a DUI and jail... versus someone on that Wednesday who just needs a ride to pick up their car after it was serviced.

I have not work for Uber ... I'm just not into driving people around
-
I have not worked for uber before
-
No I haven't. I have a sister in Vegas who drives for Uber. She said she gets pretty good money doing it. She makes her own schedule and that's the great part about it.
-
I would like to but its not in my area :o
-
The money sounds tempting, but I don't think I'd ever want to.
-
Nope I can't I have a pick up.

I think being an Uber driver has its own risks. The extra cash is nice, but safety should be a number one priority. You never know the type of passengers you will bump into. Some passengers are mentally unstable as one of my coworkers had read in the news one Uber driver got stabbed and died by a female passenger. :sad1:
-
No never worked for them before i hear there pay is good but im not exactly going to jump into something like that because people have been attacked and killed as drivers im not looking forward to even that as a possibility

I hear horror stories about the job and am to afraid to try. The money sounds good...but some of the nut cases out there are just to much.

My big sis does uber part time since she jobless & recently started her own business. She does the midday shift through bad neighborhoods but does night shifts only through good neighborhoods. She says it pays well & she can schedule her work time easily on her schedule.
-
Nope, nor will I ever. Their business tactics are laughable.
-
I have never personally worked for Uber. However, a co-worker of mine currently works for the company (on weekends), and he makes a good deal of side-money. I thought about doing it myself at one point.
-
I thought about it, I think doing fusioncash cash etc same about of money.
-
No and I never will. I refuse to work for a company that promotes sexism. They have so many shady tactics too.
-
You can make $, but it takes some time, and you put good miles on your car
-
I haven't worked for Uber, but I think the service is a great idea in a pinch.
-
I've never worked for Uber, but the general consensus is that it's not as profitable as you may think.
-
I have never worked for them, but have used their service and have always had a good experience. I think drivers probably make better money depending on the area they in, I know when I was in DC the drivers all said they did well because it is such a congested tourist area and I thing because of the traffic most people prefer to use them then drive their own cars. Not something I would personally be interested in doing, since I do not eve like when I have to drive my own vehicle to run errands etc..
-
no one I know has ever worked for them,,, used them a couple times when I went to New York. Always had a experience with them tho. No problem what so ever.
-
I have not worked for uber but also want to try it could use the extra money
-
Yes the extra cash would be nice but it is also a kind of scary proposition. I believe there has been a fair amount of crime associated with it like driving a taxi. It would certainly behoove someone to use extreme caution with where they go and what time they agree to pick someone up. Interesting though.
-
No. Driving other people around seems very stressful.
-
I do not nor know anyone that does Uber but from my point Lyft drivers are more friendly in my opinion.
-
It can be very lucrative money, but be very careful if you are considering driving for Uber. Aside from the safety issues people have already mentioned, there is another MAJOR concern that many do not know about. This happened to a close friend of mine.
I do not know the finer point details, but driving for Uber could void or severely impact your vehicle warranty because of exclusions that may be written in against using your personal vehicle for commercial purposes such as a taxi-type service. My friend was driving for Uber to supplement their family income (he was out of work at the time and was using Uber to make ends meet in their single income family). It was a relatively new vehicle - a 2015 model Mazda (I may be off by a year or two) with no mechanical problems he knew of.
It broke down during a family trip out of town and had to be towed to a repair shop. It was some sort of engine issue which would have otherwise been covered under warranty but because the car had been used for Uber it was not covered and they could not afford the repairs (several thousand dollars I am told). End result = no more Uber income, no more family vehicle (it was eventually repoed from the repair shop), an absolute nightmare all just from trying to earn a few extra bucks with what was otherwise a reliable car.
So if you are considering Uber, READ ALL the fine print in both your car insurance and you vehicle warranty before making the plunge. My friend was not a heavy Uber driver - just a little bit here or there, but even that small bit was enough to void the warranty.
-
Nope I have not. My brother has but he didn't like it. Not because of Uber, just because he doesn't like driving people haha
-
I am not a driver but it is not safe to be an UBER driver.
-
My friend works for Uber and she get a lot of nut cases and drunks. I don't want to ride around a bunch of strangers because sometimes the motive is not right. A driver raped a young lady - dangerous to me.
-
don;t think I would try it. So much meanness out there in the day and age.
-
Have not, but still not a very safe way to get a ride especially from strangers.
-
No, I have never work for Uber, my brother-in-law have worked for them.
-
No. I don't think that I want to either
