Depending on how much money it is, I would prefer to win the money so I can chose my own house, but I would be happy with any prize. They would all be great to win. I like almost anything that is free anyway.

If the money was only like $100 that would be worthless against the car or house. If the house was a run-down shack which would cost more to repair than actually buy or the $100, I'd take the car, unless the car was an old gloppy. Then I'd have to go with the money.

I wouldn't feel comfortable driving a car the value of a house (at least at the price bracket where I currently live). If they're of different values, I am more likely to choose money or the house (if the latter is located in the right place and if it's not too much of a fixer upper).

I drive an older SUV that I've always loved but little things have started going wrong with it and it has close to 180,000 miles; good motor still though.

Post by: dwggs on June 30, 2017, 10:04:10 am: I would prefer the money ... from what I understand no matter what you win you must pay the tax on the item. If you win the money you could put at least part of that money to work to cover those taxes that you will have to pay at tax time.
