Title: Pregnant momma cat
Post by: sfreeman8 on August 11, 2017, 06:31:00 am
Can cats have 2 different labor times? She's a feral cat who brought her last batch of kittens here when they were a certain age but was never real friendly. This time she even wants to come in the house.  I'm worried about her.

Momma didn't come around all yesterday and today, her stomach is a little smaller, but still hard. She looked like she had a basketball in her stomach the day before and waddled when she walked. I would say she had "part" of her litter, but I have no idea where they are. We've looked high and low for her hiding spot. She followed me around outside and she's really friendly this time.

Any ideas?

Does she have kitty nipples?  It's not unusual for cats to "stash" their kittens as a way of protecting them.  As they get older they will probably follow her to your place.  She probably gave birth to all of her kittens but she might have inflammation in her abdomen.

It sounds like she's friendly because she's learned to trust you.  Have you been feeding her?

Momma kitties are really hungry after they give birth because they need to provide milk for their babies.
