I joined Myspace in early 2006 and most of my friends are Bands/Musicians as I also like to promote them and am a huge fan of music in general. Rock & Metal Genre. I do not add people just to see the count rise as I think that's ignorant. Most on there think it's some popularity contest as to how many friends they can add. I conversate w/each and every one of my friends/family on there. And many of the friends there are people I've known for YEARS through Pogo! :thumbsup:

Some add people they've met through myspace and end up knowing them personally. I met 2 people from there and am best friends with them as they live in my town-Carol & Mary! So not everyone who adds people they don't know are just in it for the name adding. Some actually become friends with people on their list.
I have 6 family members on mine-23 friends, all of whom I know personally. And the rest are bands & musicians. Bands that I love as I am a music fanatic (Metal/Classic Rock Genre) & bands that are getting their start on myspace-as I also promote them. Put their banners on my page, etc.

But I do agree that the name collecting there is ridiculous. There's even a section regarding that issue in my blog there. Most act like it's a popularity contest to see how many names they can collect.
