I do. I'm on 4. I'd say they do a moderately good job, but not as good of a job as I'd like. I have good days and bad ones. Today has been a bad one, but it's slowly improving. :)

My adult son recently had to start on an anti-depressant. He doesn't live near us but we talk to him on an almost daily basis. It seems to be helping.

I am on Fluvoxamine (formerly Luvox). My friend notices a difference than when I am not on them, but I don't. I am on it for OCD and depression because, basically, my life sucks.
So, yes, I am on meds, but they don't turn me into Little Mary Sunshine.

I think if drugs are used in the right way they can benefit us.To have a caring responsible DR is important and its also important that we listen to him and dont abuse them as we have seen quite a bit in this world.

Thank God I don't have to take them. Although there was a time I thought I was going to have to, but thanks to good friends and a strong faith in God I was able to fight through some strong feelings of wanting to give up and just end my life after my last child passed away. Don't get wrong I miss them every day but have been able to live a full a life. But it is also partly to staying busy doing volunteer work and praying a lot.

No, but I probably should. I cry at the drop of a hat. :crybaby2:
They say that depression is suppressed anger. Sounds right to me.

I don't may need too. know one that dose

I take an anti-depressant; just started back taking them last year. I had taken them years before but had stopped after my depression got so much better. Last year was a bad year and I knew I needed something to help me. Depression seems to run in our family and has for generations.

yes I do and I don't feel like they are really doing anything for me
-
Yes. I take Zoloft (sertraline) and Lamictal (lamotrigine), but the Lamictal is for seizures.

Pill poppin society is just crazy. Deal with your problems w/o meds.
-
I was prescribed morphine for a back injury and got off that real quick !!!! Wouldn't want to be one of you junkies .
-
No I don't take any medication only vitamins and hope it continues this way.

Sometimes the depression can be caused by a chemical imbalance. Depression is a serious illness and some folks need some help. It's a flippant remark to say "deal with your problems w/o meds". Until you walk in someone's shoes who is experiencing severe depression you have no idea. Try being kind.

Both my husband and I are. It is miraculous what medicine can do now days. I sure wish it had all been available to my parents. - years ago!

Depression is not suppressed anger. Things can happen in your life that get you down (death, divorce, or anything) and that has nothing to do with anger.
I don't believe all the people who are diagnosed with depression or anxiety have it. The doctors just like to give out pills. About 80% of the people in this country are on some type of pill.

I am on 1. I don't think they do as well as they should, either.

I've been around it all and wtf hasn't been depressed at 1 time or another ? My father had a stroke last year and that depressed me,I didn't hit the bottle, pop pills.... either( I spent a whole weekend in bed crying then Monday gtf up,cleaned up and dealt with it.) Nobody says life is or is supposed to be Cmon be happy 24/7. And I have more kindness in me than anyone but I'm also a hardcore realist. Deal with your problems sober and logically,if you're depressed find something in the real world to make it better rather than meds. We don't need more druggies whether prescribed or not and doctors love the pill fix just like lawyers love to sue.

Avoid mental health risk factors and try to live a healthy life.
A good diet, exercise, get informed, meditate...do whatever
it takes to live "the good life".
Medications are not going to replace these healthy habits.

yes I do
