You have to make less than $600. You can do surveys as often as you want. Just watch your earnings from each site for the year and make sure you don't go over $600. After $600 they will send you a 1099.

Pay pal shouldn't be sending you any 1099's it the survey companies. Pay pal is like a bank and if they are sending you a 1099 there is some thing wrong with the picture. I got 2 1099's last year , remember your internet then can be a write off. My Dr bills were so high i could have got 30 1099's and i still won't have had to paid in.

I missed that the 1099 came from PayPal.

If you got a 1099 from Paypal, somethings wrong...between all the sites I belong to I'm way over the $600 mark...and nothing said about it by Paypal!

I'm looking right at it now, it says PayPal Inc 2017 form 1099-K

I think you are right: Some people are very lazy to figure certain things in this life.
Any company that pays you more than $600 is supposed to send you a 1099 form.

I don’t want to sound stupid, but can you make $600 and not declare it? Should I stop at say $575 or can I make $600 and be ok, but if I make $601 I will get the form? I’m sorry if this is a dumb question, but I just want to be 100% sure.

As long as you make less than $600 a year from each individual site you shouldn't get a 1099. At least that's what I've always been told?
-
I agree with the other that if you dont make 600 you dont have to worry
-
If I am correct you will only get a 1099 IF you earn $600 or more from the source. Less than $600 no 1099. So it isn't how often it is how much you earn.

As long as you make less than $600 in a year you will be good.

I would contact them and ask them why they sent you a 10-99. Unless you worked for them they have no reason to send you one. You would get a 10-99 from each individual company IF you made over $600 in a year. I am pretty sure I probably made over $600 on everything that was paid to me thru PayPal. That would be the same as my bank sending me a 10-99 because my employers deposited more than $600 in to my bank account.

And you would know because they will ask for your Social Security Number.

I've surveyed for years regularly and never received a 1099. It's mostly about spreading the work around between sites.

Hello! :D :)
I'm not sure, you should just try to keep track of your earnings to play it safe. It's good that you're earning a lot it's bad that you have to pay taxes. :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:
