I have a friend who has social anxiety.  She doesn't like to be in crowds so her kids don't get to do a lot of things because of her social anxiety.

I don't usually have social anxiety, but I do get nervous giving speeches. I have a cousin who has a lot of social anxiety however, and it can make life challenging for her at times. I've learned that small groups usually work best for her.

While I do not necessarily suffer from social anxiety, I do hate being in large crowds, regardless if I know the people or not. I feel more comfortable being in an intimate setting with 1 - 2 people.

I was the same exact way when my son was younger. People wondered about birthdays and why I didn't invite anyone over.

Somewhat of it, I often don't like being in large crowds. I tend to get nervous and speak too fast when doing public speaking. I sometimes worry about people judging me for the things I do or have an opinion about it.

Somewhat I hate having to speak in front of large groups especially when giving a presentation at work I don't really know them.

Yes! I have social anxiety and I'm an introvert, which I think amplifies my social anxiety. Racing heart, palpitations, sweating, nausea, sometimes sick. For some reason, I have trouble making phone calls. I get heart palpitations just thinking about ordering a pizza or scheduling an appointment. I do better in group meetings at work vs one-on-one, I suppose because the focus is not completely on me. Giving a presentation? Ugh, no way.

That’s sort of like when I used to be extremely sensitive to noise.

You aren't alone. I understand. I'm not nervous driving, or making a business calls but when I get an invite to go to an event I wonder who's going to be there . Even being one on one makes my anxiety worse at times.

I have social anxiety and have had it for many years. It is very hard to cope with and definitely affects my life. I have tried different medications, breathing techniques, etc but nothing seems to work for me.

I have a mild form of it.  I'm not a big fan of crowds.

In crowds I get anxious about knowing where each person in my party is.  Adults, kids, doesn't make a difference,

I do know a couple people who have social anxiety.  Several actually.  And some of there behaviors are just bizarre to me.  I can't empathize in any way.  I've been around these few people with social anxiety for years - and their anxiety takes a toll on me.  My mood actually changes and I get depressed.  My energy decreases and even how I feed my body and soul changes.

I don't have it, but I am not to comfortable with a lot of people hanging around me in my space, makes me cautious.

The more and more crazy the world gets the more people don't like being in large crowds. I remember going to a ball game when I was younger...stadium held 110,000 and it was almost sold out.  Then going to concerts where the arena held closer to 100,000 than 50,000.  And that didn't bother me at all.  Now I wouldn't want to be in a large crowd like that.
