Title: Horror Movie Recommendations
Post by: kaat1220 on December 25, 2018, 03:20:31 pm
I am running out of horror movies to watch.

Some gore is okay, but I am more a fan of atmospheric, intelligent horror.

Chances are, most of what you suggest I may have already seen.

If anyone is blown away by a great movie, let me know.

However, please don't cut and paste a list from IMDB. I would prefer this be a movie you have seen.

Thanks.

If you like atmospheric horror try the Roger Corman films of the early sixties with Vincent Price.

I've seen some of them, but those are definitely some that I would not mind revisiting.

If you of anything else, please let me know!

Thanks.

Thanks.

I was perplexed somewhat. The party i addressed i thought supported bible. But not surprised.Christendom claims to do the same but doesnt. Its not easy in this world of influence and a sinful condition we have.

Hitch:

I said that bible was okay. Sorry if I confused you.

Mizz and Mapi:

I've seen Split, Get Out, Hush, and Hereditary. I was rather disappointed in the ending of Hereditary; it ruined the entire movie for me.

But Split, Get Out, and Hush were awesome.

I will write the rest down.

Thanks so much for your help guys!

Not a problem Kaat. What i meant was i was surprised to see someone who supports bible scriptures endorse the man that would support a demonic movie. But to be fair WE are all influenced and fight against our own flesh.

I can relate in a way where i dont support Xmas but get drawn to someone doing a moving rendition of them doing "O holy night"

Thats why the scripture in the bible Satan transforming himself into an angel of light makes sense.

My recommendation is to never view a horror film. They stick in your head and you don't need that in your head.

At least, I sure don't need it in mine. They tend to make me more fearful of the dark.  ::)

The movies I suggested are pretty tame compared to what is out there now. I do like the older horror flicks. I like watching good triumphing over evil, even if the story is being told in the horror genre.

John 5:19 reads that whole world is in power of wicked one.Yes Satan has been allowed to rule to show where we stand after rebellion in Eden and what he said in book of Job.The apostle Paul said when he wants to do right his sinful flesh gets in the way.We all have that fight.

The influence of the occult in music,tv,movies, attitudes is quite prevalent today.Satan looks to devour us like a roaring lion says bible.

You wanna see good beating evil.....watch Leave it to Beaver or Father knows best.Even Dennis the menace is tame compared to whats out there now.

Just because you like horror movies doesn't mean you're a devil.

Bad association spoil useful habits.

Do you think Jesus woulda supported "The Texas chain gang massacre"?

I have news for you....Satan supported a lot more killings in this world then horror movies.

Sorry, you will not get any suggestions for horror movies from me. I hate those type of movies. I like love stories or a good drama.

Horror movies do not necessarily mean gore where people's limbs are chopped up.

I just want the names of films that cause you to jump out of your skin with fright because, face it, it's fun.

However, I do not like movies like the Human Centipede, and those like SAW, that are nothing but gore.

There are a lot of intelligent horror films out there. I LOVE Vincent Price, M. Night Shyamalan, and Alfred Hitchcock.

I meant no discussion on religeon Kaat.I was speaking reality.Lots of bad influence comes from the occult in music,tv,movies etc.

You have seen a few replys here that would prefer to stand clear of being frightened. If it floats your boat you have lots of company too.

More then 1 person in this world that has committed murder has blamed it on hearing voices. You can put 2 and 2 together.

I actually thought the older movies in black and white that showed no gore EX..The mummy. The thing....Frankenstein....Dracula were better.Hitchcocks 1st Psycho was along that line too.The Birds...The Time Machine 1st one.

A lot of demonic influence has prevailed in the last 50 yrs....im old enuff to have seen this in this world and its gonna get worse now cos of social media and cell phones.Satan is clever.

Well, I love horror movies and have never been involved with satan nor have I heard demonic voices. I have never hurt a fly (literally). I go out of my way to help and to never harm.

Most movies I like tend to be ghost-related although I do like the Conjuring/Annabelle series. I do not enjoy watching people get chopped to bits. I like the atmospheric movies where it's more what is implied than seen.

In my opinion, more people have been killed in the name of God and/or religion than anything else.

But that's a whole other ball of wax. Let's keep this light, shall we?

And with the intent of keeping it light,i guess it depends on those killed in the name of god.....which god?

Jesus died in the name of God..the true God...so i guess that was good for the human race eh?

The false gods?Simply sad!

I just watched a very good one called "A Quiet Place."  It was better than I ever thought it would be.  It had a good storyline and not just a lot of blood and gore.  i found it very suspenseful.  I believe it came out in 2018! Right now it is on Xfinity's "OnDemand!"
