Doing customer service in a call center.  I made good money but the job sucked taking call after call from mostly angry people.

I could imagine. Any customer service job is going to be bad because people are demanding and for the most part look down on any one working customer service.

Me either. I talked to a man about a job (that he cannot keep filled) a couple days ago.  I asked about pay and he said you make ZERO an hour as far as he is concerned.  You make your money from commission off sales.  If you do not sell enough to make at least $7.25 an hour (which he HAS to pay you) then you will be fired.  Hmmm.  The parking lot is always empty. There are not that many customers.  So, the job still sits unfilled while he tells everyone that people are lazy and don't want to work.  WHY don't you explain the working conditions!

I think working at a factory that made plastic twist ties was the worst.  I worked 3 to 11 and unless you were one of the first ones there and snagged a stool, you had to stand all during your shift (sometimes they gave you a rubber mat so the concrete floor wouldn't be so hard)LOL.  It didn't pay great but I needed the money.

It  would be a home sales  jobs, which required showing  the products you were selling. I enjoyed it  for a few weeks then it seemed like you were butting your  head against a wall to  get the items sold and then I ran into a couple of problems where I went  and it was all guys.  they were  drinking.  I never  set up. split as  fast as I could.  then I decided no  more I would  go get another part time job. A real job.

Doing phone collections for Fingerhut.  Some of the reasons people gave...  I thought to myself, "Well, if I just got laid off (spouse died, had a fire, etc), Fingerhut would be the last bill I'd pay."  I know some of them lied, but I finally quit.

Door to door sales IS a real job.  Not something I would want to do but it IS a real job.  You don't see too many of them around any longer.  If one comes to my door I would not let them in.  I won't even open the door. Tell them they need to leave.  The last one that came around I was at my parents and the woman actually shoved her way in to the house.  If it had been mine she would have left in an ambulance because when she tried to shove her way past me I would have knocked her off the porch.  You don't come in to MY home uninvited.  I don't care who you are.

I had a company call me once wanting me to work as a collection's agent. I was like NOPE.  I am not calling people to collect money they owe you. Yes a lot of people are going to lie. They are going to cuss you and every thing else. There is a couple of the pay day loan places here locally and they not only have you call people but go to their home and place or work and try to collect the money.

I am surprised Finger Hut ships stuff out before you pay for it.  Most of the companies like that you pay for it before they send it to you.

One summer during college I got a job on a farm.  I worked in the fields. It was hot, humid, and lots of grasshoppers.  I hate grasshoppers.

Working at Disney was a horrible experience... for being the happiest place on earth, people were so incredible angry all the time.  People figured out the more they complained the more free stuff Disney compensates them for even if the complaint was a lie.  It's a horrible working environment that doesn't pay much more than say working at Walmart.

It is like that every where.  Every worked in retail or fast food.  They do not care if they are getting an actual person in trouble with their lies either.

I once worked for a telemarketing company.  It was awful and would never do that again.  That is one of the reasons I hate talking on the phone.

I had 2 bad jobs. My first was working for a candy store....I gained weight because part of the pay was eat all you want and since I loved butter creams and chocolate covered pretzels....well.

My second worse was working 3rd shift at a pen and pencil manufacturer. I was one of the molders. You didn't do anything but watch the machine pour the plastic into the mold, make the pen part, then when it opened, you took the pens out and smacked them again a tub to get them apart. I fell asleep one night and killed the molder by not pulling the finished product out of the machine so when the press closed again, it was glued together. Ruined a $10K machine and almost got fired!  It was the most boring job I ever had!

My first job was telemarketing. The job itself wasn't so bad, even when dealing with irate people. But I was absolutely terrible at pushing sales so I rarely made my quota. The only reason I never got fired was because my supervisor liked me (too much).

My worst job was working in a large shoe department in a retail store.  I am telling you I never picked up so many scattered shoes and shoeboxes in my whole life.  People just like to ask for 20 pairs of shoes to try on and just leave them anywhere and everywhere. It was then I decided people are incredibly lazy when they know someone is there to wait on them!
Then there were a few women who had obnoxious kids that they let run around the department messing up displays.  Still another situation was the couple of women who expected me to get the shoes on their kids' feet or put them on their own feet.  They were a bit huffy when i explained we didn't do that!  Oh well!!

I worked for a fast food when I first arrive to the US 30 years ago, I also worked a part time for Macy's about 10 years ago, and even though they were both bad, my worst experience was an office job I had until very recently, worked for them as a government contractor for 20 years, every time the contract would renew a new company will win it and with that came a new management, rules, etc.  The last company the environment was really toxic, stressful and manager was a person that kept you on a tight leash, I had to get out of it and thank God I managed to, my health was getting affected and I could not handle it anymore.

My worst job was working in a Hall-mark store.  I was scheduled to work the weekend.  My first 8 hour shift turned into a 6 hour shift of following an older woman around all day.  She allowed me to make price tag stickers for the bottom of some figurines.  I was bored out of my mind.  The owner was in her office to busy with her obligations she never even made eye contact with me.  When my elderly training partner told me to come back the next day I opted not to.  I think maybe only 2 customers even walked in the day I was there.  They have since gone out of business.

When I was 13 or 14 I worked in tobacco fields, tying up the plants to overhead wires to keep them growing up straight instead of falling over when the wind hit them. The job was awful. It was working all day under the hot sun, bending over and standing up straight over and over again. Boring as hell plus tiring.

Chipotle. I couldn't roll the burrito. They taught me how to roll it by saying it was like "rolling a blunt." I don't smoke pot, so that obviously wasn't much help. They were also hyper-critical of me, saying I was too shy, etc. I got fired in 3 weeks.

That is stupid.  I would say well since I am not a pot head that doesn't really help me much.
