When you are shopping in a brick and mortar store, what form of payment do you use most often? I use my debit card about 95% of the time. When it is a fairly large purchase, say over $200, I use my credit card. How about you? What do you use most frequently?

I use my debit card the most.

I use my credit card the most for several reasons. One, it builds your credit to put things on a credit card and then to pay them off. Second, it gets you rewards if you have a rewards credit card. Third, it doesn't use up your hard-earned cash right away, allowing it to accrue interest before you have to pay up. Fourth, it offers you protection in case of a deal gone wrong - you can always appeal to the issuer of the card to help you straighten out problem purchases.

I always use my credit card for the rewards. I hate the people that write out a check and hold up the line. Lol
-
I use cash or checks. On an occasion will us pre-paid cards.
I don't like credit cards!
-
I use credit cards mostly for rewards. I pay off the charges as soon as they post to the account so I never pay any interest charges.

I use my debit card and cash the most

Depends on the store. The amount of the purchase.

You hate them? That is a little harsh. I mean it takes like maybe 2 minutes. Are you really in that big of a hurry? Go to the self check out. :D

I use my credit card the most so I can get the rewards.

I use my debit card most of the time. Sometimes I use my credit card. When I purchase gas I always use my credit card because it is a rewards card that lets me take cents off the gas.
-
I use my debit card- too much.
-
Just a heads up....I was listening to a commercial that offers 1% cash back on spendings up to $3K when used on a certain card. Compare the fees to the rewards when signing up for reward cards.

I use cash for most small purchases, debit car sometimes, checks the rest. the only time I use credit cards is when I order on online. I would rather it already be paid for.
-
I use my debit card for smaller purchases and credit card for larger purchases to earn cash-back points. But pay the balance off each month. I never seem to have cash in my billfold.

Depending on the store, I use debit card, if purchase is too big then credit card, if I go to an store like maybe Costco I would write a check just to give me a few days before the $$ comes out of my bank. I also hate people that writes check, but only the ones that wait until they tell you how much you are spending to start looking for the check book to write it. If you are going to write a check then have it out and prepare it while they are running the items. I had an experience at a grocery store a few years back, from a lady that had done groceries worth $250 and waited until they told her the amount to get her purse, look for the checkbook (she had several) and then write the check, that was totally frustrating.

I use my debit card the , and cash to get change
-
Never my debit unless absolutely necessary. It is the least safe way to do the transaction. And sinse I don't carry much cash, I use credit cards.
-
Pretty much the same - it depeds if I have money left in my account and it isn't a huge amount I use my debit card otherwise it is credit and I never use cash.
-
I use my debit card for small purchases and my credit card for large purchases. I also use cash for small purchases.
-
It depends on what I am purchasing and the cost; however I never use a check.
-
i prefer to use cash when i can i can save the change and i can just look in my wallet to see what i have left instead of having to make a phone call on load up the internet
-
I use my credit card most for the reward but always pay in full to avoid the interest.
-
I almost always use my debit card as I rarely carry cash.
-
I like using cash, don't like to use my debt card much.
-
Credit card for any large purchase since you still get cashback and stuff so about 90% of the time while the 10% is cash for stuff I just get on a regular day like food etc.
-
I used cash and Debit most often. I never write checks. I think I may have written a check maybe once or twice in my whole life. It takes too long to write a check.
-
I used cash if just small amount but if over a 100$ used my credit card.
-
I use debit mostly. With credit it's easier to buy more. You don't have to pay for it right away. Do like to get points discover is good for that.
-
I prefer to use my credit card because I'll get at least a few pennies cash back that I would otherwise not get using cash or debit. I do see the benefit of using a debit card though if you have trouble behaving yourself with a credit card.
-
I usually use cash, but sometimes I'll use my debit card.
-
I almost always use my credit card. I pay off weekly what I charged during the week so I never pay any interest, plus I get cash back.
-
I try to use cash as much as possible but like most others, I rarely carry it these days. I also use my debit card the majority of the time.
-
If it's a national chain or fairly large company, I typically use either my debit or credit card. When I am shopping at a local/small business, I try to pay in cash if possible (because they don't have to pay a processing fee that cards tend to charge the places you use them at). But it does kind of depend on what I have on me at the time.
-
debit aned credit
-
it depends but mostly debit or credit card depending of where I go
-
I mostley deal in cash only. Don't like to use my debit or credit card
-
I never use credit card. I mainly use debit or cash and that's all I use.
