Would it bother you if you had a co-worker than was always picking your drink up and looking at it?
For example - your drink, whether it is in a 20oz bottle, a reusable bottle of some sort or a cup with a forbidden straw lol and she always had to pick it up and turn it around in her hands and look at it?
-
If someone was curious about what was in my cup, bottle or whatever I was using and politely asked without them having a need to touch or handle it, I would be fine with that.
However, picking up; even more so as you stated, always picking up the drink, to me feels like an invasion of privacy.
Yes, it would bother me very much.
-
Yes, it would bother me as well.
-
Yes, I would be bothered by someone inspecting my drink.
-
My deal is keep your dirty hands off my stuff esp food or drinks. Pretty sure she would be upset if anybody else done it to her. She is about the most nosy busy body I have ever seen. She has to know everything that anybody is doing. Not only in our facility but at least 2 of the surrounding facilities.

This is absolutely inexcusable. :o I hope you call her out for it. She needs some instruction in discipline.
-
Yeah no, thats weird, creepy and invading your space
Have you ever rudely asked.........uuuh Can I HELP you?
-
yes, that would drive me crazy.
-
Yes it would bother me and I would call them out on it. If they want to know what it is they can politely ask
-
Yes it would certainly bother me and I would sincerely wonder what was psychologically wrong with them as well. First of all I am kind of germophobic and I wouldn't like people touching my stuff even if it wasn't at the top where I put my mouth to drink. They older I get the more bothered I am by such things and would likely ask/tell them to not do it again.

-
Yeah, I think that would bug me. Maybe not the first time but, EVERY day?

Well I thought of that as well. Keep your dirty hands off other people's drinks. The one lady in the office area is kind of like whatever or she doesn't mean anything but most everyone else is ready to knock her out. lol
-

She does it all the time. And asks questions about what is in the cup. smh. She is a mental case.
-
yep...would bother me a gerat deal..i would be asking why they picking up my drink..
-
If they continuously picked it up without asking, yes that would bother me.

She does it all the time. Turns it around in her hands and studies it. smh
-
Ask them if they washed their hands with a stern eyeball look, than ask if they are thinking about your health, or you a friend or foe?

I am neither. She does it to everyone. She is a co-worker. Nothing more.

See that's the kind of thing that's even worse in a way than outrageously wrong behavior which would be easier to confront. This is just weird enough to drive me nuts, but benign enough that I'd probably struggle for a long time about whether it was truly worth making a big deal about by asking her to knock it off (I hate confrontation)
Try setting out a decoy cup coated with krazy glue :)
-
Yes it would bother me. You don't know if their hands are clean or dirty or if they have been sick and might possibly pass something along that would make me sick.

Ohhhh there is an idea. lol

Well that is another thing. She is always sick. She is the sickliest person I have ever seen in my life.
Lately if I see her coming toward me I will just move it out of her reach. Others, one in particular, has said well I don't want to be rude. My thoughts was it IS rude for her to touch other people's food or drinks. And from what you all are saying I am not the only one who feels that way.
-
Strange - Have you ever asked her syyt she does that?
-

No. She is just weird. When I see her coming toward my area if I have a drink sitting there I just move it.
-
Yeah that's kinda weird. It would be one thing (and still kinda weird) if someone did this once, but to do this multiple times is odd. Maybe you should just talk to the person and kindly ask them to refrain from doing it in the future. Hopefully that will work.

Nah, it is coming to a head. It is more of a "keep your dirty hands off my drink" kind of thing. I think everybody has just kind of gotten tired of it. Well except the one lady who doesn't want to make anybody mad. :D
-
It would bother me too. But I would say would you like this drink since you can't keep your hands off of it. Then I would order another and place it where she couldn't touch it. Maybe I am too out spoken but it is the way I would handle it.. Who knows she might take the hint.
-
Some people just do not mind their own business.
When will they learn...that "been nosy is very rude"?.
-
this is very weird. Why would anyone want to do this. WHy cant she just ask what you are drinking instead od picking it up adn looking at it.
-
co-worker supposed to work not touch otha peoples stuff
-
Yes. Go to her desk and start touching all her stuff and picking it up see how she likes that.
-

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing....

I don't order them. Most people bring their own drinks in their own water bottles.

Not sure why she would think it is her business what people are drinking. lol. Maybe she would like for somebody to bring her a drink? haha
-
This does sound weird. I mean, once is one thing. But if this goes on routinely, sounds like a pretty bizarre person.

She has been moved to a different department. haha
-
It wouldn't matter what it was. If it was something that belonged to me and someone randomly picked it up it would bother me. Keep your hands to yourself!

I agree. But drinks or food is a little worse. Keep your germs to yourself. lol
-
Dang that's weird, what is she the drink inspector.
-
That's very intrusive, not to mention absolutely weird. I would confront that person and demand they keep their hands to themselves.
-
That would bother me, and I would have been rude a long time ago, I really have a big mouth, especially when it bothers me. Pick on me, or my things and we will have a big problem. If she does not like ti the "ASK ME IF I CARE".
-
Yes it would bother me. I don't want people touching my food or drinks
-
Honestly, I don't know if I would even notice it lol
-
It would bother me... especially after just reading the stats on how much feces are on touch pads at McDonalds. You never know how sanitary people are in washing their hands, & if the person is doing in continually doing such weird actions, I'd be highly suspect on their sanitary habits. People are weird.

Hello!
To me, it's not so much what she is doing more like why? Why does what I'm drinking is an interest of hers? I would calmly address that to her.
-
Yeah, If would bug me if that happens dont want someone touching what I put in my mouth.
