I saw another question for the other side of this but I was wondering if anyone has any experience working for Instacart. Was thinking about doing it as a shopper.

I am afraid that I have not even heard of that business

I do not work for this particular company, but I work for several as a secret shopper. I really enjoy it and get to spend someone else's money to shop. I o pocketdo a lot of grocery stores and actually pay out very little for groceries. You have to be smart about it, and pick grocery stores in the same area on the same day or the gas would eat up your profit. I also have done hardware stores, electronic stores, shoe and clothing stores, lot of different restaurants (including some high end locations), meetings for insurance, medicare lots of phone calls, jiffy lube, flower shops, apartment rental and casinos . You can take as many or as few jobs as you would like. You get paid to do a lot of stuff you would have done anyway for a few minutes time at the computer filling out a questionnaire about your shop.

The only thing is you spend your money and then are suppose to get it back. I am curious though they write the check for your pay plus the reimbursement amount so you are paying taxes on more than your pay.

It sounds like an interesting way to get cash. On all the sites I do, my end of year account doesn't list my expenses. Just the amount I earn with the company so I'm only taxed on what I earned.
