It is no big deal really but my son's girlfriend (Yes LOL I complain about her all the time) came over opened the fridge and looked inside. She said hahahahahahah who put the peanut butter upside down. So I say we do that so the oil stays disbursed through the peanut butter the natural works that way better I read it online and found it works. Yes I said ALL of that so I open the fridge this morning and she had turned it back upright. I guess she thinks there is something wrong with me mentally. OH WELL that isn't the worse that I have to deal with so I just made my peanut butter toast and turned it back the way I wanted it.

Don t you think it's rude she opened your refrigerator? When my kids were dating their boyfriends never just walked into my kitchen and opened my refrigerator and I know my girls did not do that to their boyfriends mothers. I would have killed them, they were taught better.

Yes, it is frustrating when it is fairly obvious someone is not really listening. I find that in two different ways: No eye contact. I mean the whole time you are saying something they seem to be looking at something else or over your shoulder. Secondly, if they have a somewhat "glazed' look on their face and/or are looking anywhere but at you, and you can tell they are thinking about what they want to say next rather to what you are telling them.

I never heard of that. Of course I leave the peanut butter on the counter. I never put it in the fridge. As for the girlfriend going into the fridge, whenever we were younger, we would ask if we can get an drink out of the fridge. We were always told you don't have to ask you're family.

What irks me more is when someone insists you never told them something when you know you did and they just weren't listening.

A resounding YES over here. My boyfriend is perhaps one of the worst listeners in the world. I would pour my heart out to him on occasion and after about 5 - 10 minutes of that, he completely changes the subject or remains silent. It is the worst feeling in the world for me. Whether he recognizes it or not, he invalidates/dismisses my feelings when he does that. Very frustrating!

My Three Grown Children will not listen to me at all. They think that what I have to say is not important to them at all. It really hurts my feelings. I was always a Stay at Home Mom and took really good care of my Boys' and they had everything that they needed and ever wanted. I don't know where I went wrong. They will always listen to their Dad and do what ever he asks of them, but not for me.

Well I think that is bad on all younger people, they all purposely ignore what we say. My daughters do it all the time. As for the boyfriends they all knew that it was OK with me that they open refrigerators/pantries. My youngest daughter last serious boyfriend would always tell me when we ran out of bread and or PB since that was his favorite Snack LOL

My husband wants everyone to listen to his long explanations and stories but he won't give anyone else time to talk.

It's annoying but I don't hate it. The girlfriend should show more respect and put things back the way she found it in another persons home because it's not her place.

The nerve of her. It's not her house. She has no respect. I bet she wouldn't like it one bit if you went to her house disturbing her things.

Never heard of anyone turning a jar PB upside down, and I don't keep mine in the fridge, just put it back in the cabinet, don't like cold stiff PB, makes it harder to spread.

The upside down trick is for organic/natural peanut butter that always has the thick layer of oil on it. If you keep it upside down the oil disperses down through the peanut butter. It works been doing it for years.

Does your son and his girlfriend live there? Why would she even open your refrigerator to start with. And the laughing at me would not have went over too well. Esp the loud fake obnoxious obviously laughing AT me kind of thing. I would probably have told her to leave my house.

I have never heard of turning PB upside down but it is your PB and your house so I would not come in and laugh at you for having it the way that you do and certainly would not change it. Unless I thought you just set it wrong accidentally.

Like I said : I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF TURNING PB UPSIDE DOWN.
Just because she typed in in a post does not make me have heard of it. I did not miss anything.

I really don't like when a person I'm supposedly having a conversation with doesn't listen at all. It makes me feel like I'm just being ignored and that the person doesn't care at all about what I'm saying like they want me to care about their part in our conversation. I value a person listening because I always try to give the other person my undivided attention in our conversation and I want and value that same attention.

The older hubby gets the worse his hearing is and he swears up and down I never tell him things I have to remind him of that has to be done or we are going somewhere. But when he comes to fishing he remembers everything. Getting old sucks.
