Is there anyone who doesn't have health insurance? If you do, how did you get it? while not working?
-
my understanding is that you have to look online and apply for it.
-
I guess you just have to do a lot of research and carefully make the best decision. NOT easy
-
Go to www.healthcare.gov

I don't have it. Not sure how you get it if you are not working. Heck, I don't know how to get it while working.
Kind of hard to pay over $1000 a month for premiums.
Have a $6,000 to $10,000 deductible.
Then you have to pay ALL your own medical expenses in addition to the premium because you have to met the deductible.

You could go to your local welfare office and tell them you are illegal. That should get you signed up for free that very same day!
-
I don't tell anyone but sometimes none here

You got that right!!!

I would imagine your social security office could help you apply for government health insurance. All the best to you.

We do not have health insurance with my husband's job. We had to get ObamaCrapCare. We can't really afford to use it and we have to pay for it. We had to apply for it online.
-
I don't have health insurance either. It's not fun.
-
i was going to the free clinic here for years until someone told me i could get a subsidy off of my husbands disability check..i now have insurance and it it so nice..but free clininc was there when i needed them

My husband and I are business owners. We have health care coverage through our business. I would have no idea how to get coverage it you don't work. As far as getting insurance through the company you work for, that is going to depend entirely on the company and how the HR is set up.
-
At this time, illegals don't have free health insurance. Fake news!!

Everyone does not qualify for government health insurance.

There are no free clinics in my area.

I have coverage through my work. It was way too expensive to get coverage for my daughter through my employer so I had to go to the exchange ( http://connectforhealthco.com/ ) to get hers. For a health teen I pay over $200 a month in premiums and the deductible is crazy high. Insurance is a joke...

Contact you local government or county office; they should be able to guide you in the right direction; good luck.

I have health insurance.
The real problem is: Some insurance companies deny your claim.
You just have to take them to Court-Sue them!

That is stupid. They should not be able to deny a claim. If you need medical care they should pay for it. Unless it is elective. You want a tummy tuck then you need to stop stuffing your face. But things that are needed they should not deny esp if you pay the premiums. That is another reason some people just say no way to paying ridiculously high premiums and all their own medical care because of deductibles higher than a lot of people spend at a doctor in a life time.

Thankfully, I have health insurance. But I had a feeling that the Affordable Care Act did more harm than good. It is heart-wrenching that even after the passage of the ACA, people are struggling to afford health insurance. Unsure when the United States will get on the same bandwagon as Canada and go down the universal health insurance avenue.
-
You can go to the welfare office and hospitals who will help you out getting insured. They set you up for vision, dental and other health care insurance. They even help you set up everything to be covered. It's out there, you have to do some research.

have it through Obamacare it works for me.

My mother had no health insurance and had to go a free clinic for a while for her health care. I was worried about her because she needed a surgery desperately to get well. The only thing we were able to find was the Affordable Care Act health care in our state. She became signed up and thankfully got her much needed surgery in March and is recovering. It's not the best you can get but for her situation is helpful enough for her current needs.

Praying they never do. People need to get a clue and understand that the healthcare is NOT free. And the healthcare is not worth anything. People die waiting for a bed. If people are so in love with Canada's set up they need to move there. It's funny because people who have health problems try to get to the United States because we have better health care than any other country.

I am curious where all these free clinics are. I have never heard of that. Certainly do not have anything like that any where close to me.
At least your mom could get the free insurance. Most people can't get it. I tried to get it because I can't afford insurance and I was told I did not qualify. Here look at this. It is affordable. NO, it was more than my income. Not sure how I am suppose to afford that. But hey, at least the baby machines all have insurance.

I have health insurance but we have clinics in our area. I volunteer at a homeless shelter and they have access to plenty of places that can help people.

I am still working, so I have health Insurance.

If you're laid off, CObRA through the state. Also, your state should have a health insurance office where you can apply for approved insurance plans. I was laid off 2010; got unemployment and checked into COBRA and state plans. I decided since I only had a year to go for Medicare I could wait. Ha! At 9 months was when I wound up with my knee sarcoma and 5 years later still fighting with the hospital over the bill. They wanted $1200 a month to pay the bill. My Social Security was %600. They said I didn't qualify for Medicaid. Why? That was my argument. Here they thought my husband had guaranteed payment. Nope. He never signed any papers. Only me. So, I got an attorney and he solved it with one 3 paragraph letter. So far (4 year later), they haven't bothered me but the stress was awful.

It is very expense if you have to pay it without a employer paying part of it.

There is no hospital that will set you up with insurance. And the "welfare office" as you say does not do this either. You have to go online and apply. And just because you apply does not mean you are going to be accepted to get it for free.

We have Obama Crap Care which I can't afford to use but have to pay for every month. The Dr. keeps bugging me to come in for this and that. I was just there on a FREE THE DRUGS visit. They were being held hostage. She was bugging me to get on rat poison for Afib but, that would be sooooo expensive in blood tests. Now, today, I just get another message that they want me to come in and discuss my Sjogrens. ARGH! There isn't anything you can do for Sjogrens. I can't afford to go in and talk about something that you can't do anything about. Maybe if I can find a good medicare plan, next year, I can get some stuff done but, in the meantime, I need to stay away, if at all possible from clinics and hospitals!

Why do you HAVE to pay for bamercare every month? WHO is forcing you to take this insurance?
-
Go to the exchange website for your state and obtain it that way. When I was underemployed, that's how I did it - actually had several options and wasn't really expensive fortunately.

Not everyone can afford that. That was the point of others. It is WAY too expensive. Not everyone is going to qualify for the free ride. I know I didn't. The only ins I have found costs more than I make in a month. Maybe it has to do with the state you live in. NOTHING is affordable about the so called affordable care act. NOTHING.

I have medicare and a prescription part D that comes out of my SS

We dropped our health insurance as it had gotten so expensive we couldn't afford it . Like $500.00 and over each. Now we are on Medicare. Just recently we found out there are programs out there that we qualified for. We now get Medicaid also that pays for C and D. So we are getting everything free and might have to pa$3.50 for meds. We also do not have to pay that deduction on Medicare either. Go to your Social security office and ask for it. I also put my day on it . He is paying like $400.00 a month and is only making $766. A month. So now he will no longer have to pay for supplement insurance he will no longer pay for the deduction out of his Social security. Folks the programs are there you just have to ask.

My friend has low income so she gets it free from the obamacare system but it really doesnt cover much.
-
Apply for Medicaid. Look online how and you can do it over the phone if that works best for you.

Must be nice. Yeah there are freebies for "some" people. Be glad you qualify. Everybody does not qualify. And FYI FREE is not FREE. YOU may not pay for it but somebody else is. Like the people who are paying $1000 to $1500 a month for premiums.
