I quit Facebook some time ago.  Too much fake news and articles that have been placed by russians.  Plus I was very shocked to see the views and opinions of some of my so-called "friends."

It has not happened to me, but I know it can and you have to be very vigilant. I only have facebook to keep in touch with family and friends that leave in my home country, i do not pay attention to ads or anything else.  If somebody put opinions that I do not like I just block there posts and keep going

I opened mine up one time and it was literally filled with pornography.  :-[

However, I deleted all of it and it never came back. Oddity of oddities.  ???

No, but you can use https for security

https has nothing to do with your facebook account being hacked in to.

There is always a possibility that someone will hack your facebook page as with everything else on the internet.

I haven't had this happen to me, but it's happened to a couple of my friends. I don't understand the mindset of hackers at all, but I guess I just don't get why someone would want to be malicious to a person they don't even know. I would feel guilty and upset with myself if I hacked and took over someone's Facebook page! :bad:

It is a way to gain access to others info.  IF I look at your facebook I, depending on your settings, could not see much more than a list of friend's names.  IF I can take over your page then I can see info about all your friends.  Some people have over 1000 friends.  And do not even know the majority of them.  If is unreal at how much info you can get about people.  And it is all because they put the info out there themselves.

I haven't but friends have and it bites because you have to start over.  People if you don't know them don't say yes to be their friend.  duh!

I personally have not experienced this, but I have had several friends who have experienced this. It stinks. Fingers crossed, knock on wood, throw salt over the shoulder and any other good luck superstition there is to keep it from happening to any of us.
