I'm leery about those that want you to download a special app. I had a survey that was to pay a couple cents and did it...then it wanted me to download an app for extra $2. It would follow my browsing history for 60 days. I refused, don't trust apps like that. Well, didn't get credit for the pennies, either. I don't think that was fair. The app part was EXTRA, not part of the original survey.
Does anyone trust those download extras?
-
Absolutely not. I never download anything of that sort. You never know of a virus,
-
I actually have a couple apps like that on my laptop right now, can't remember if they were part of a survey though. One of them I have already done follow-up surveys on, the other I have done nothing with. I will probably take them off soon. I really should keep better track of why and how I got them to begin with I guess, but so far no harm has come out of them as far as I know.
-
I don't trust them either. Surveys should really tell you at the start of the survey, if that is involved.
-
I'm with you. I am leery when a survey wants you to download or install anything. You never know what you are being sent.
-
Nope, I don't do it.
-
Nope, not downloading an App for a survey. Not going to do that. :-\
-
Nope, I don't download anything and I don't do anything that requires my phone number.
-
i definately won't download anything for survey. I am always afraid of viruses and malware.
i also don't like surverys that ask of info such as name and address :pumpkin: :peace:
-
I never down load anything they ask me to use.
-
I have been known to download add ons in order to complete surveys, and have never had a problem with them (that I know of), but I, too, think its a bad idea. I delete them as soon as I'm finished with them. You just get lucky if no harm ensues!
-
I downlaoded an app once from a survey but it was not for browsing history. It was a beverage survey and I entered in my own data. was sent a $35 gift card a few weeks later
-
I've downloaded an app from a survey before and received my reward after keeping installed for a certain period of time. I can be happy to do them again as long the software is safe and continue receiving my reward.

I would not do that. Esp when it says it "follows" you. I have downloaded an app where you do a certain type of diary ie what you eat or drink for a certain number of days. I also did get paid. And it paid really well. I think the one was $30. I have done it more than once.

You do know that when you do a survey thru this site they have your name and address anyway - right?
If you do not believe me then submit a support ticket and ask. I done a survey a couple years ago and was leery about some of the questions asked and I submitted a ticket and asked if they knew who you were or are our answers anonymous. The snippy reply I got was "Of course they know who you are. If you are not comfortable answering the questions just X out and try another one".
I do agree though and usually exit surveys that want me to re-enter my full name and address. And you really have no idea who is behind any of the surveys you do. And I do not think PTC sites are protective of members who do the surveys. They get paid by the one behind the survey and that is all they care about. THEY get paid.

Yeah, this is what I was talking about. I have done it more than once. I got $50 once. The most I ever got for a survey was $150 but I did not have to download any apps or anything.

There are a select few with an app id do and they are legit. Anything promoting games on phones or diaries of any time usually pay well. Especially the . A month ago i just got done with a drink study which requires a diary app which paid 35

I have attempted a few surveys involving downloading an app, but I feel uncomfortable doing so. I still remain hopeful that it is only for the purpose intended, but you still have surrendered your personal privacy nonetheless. I consider the downloading of an app very carefully, preferring not to if I'm suspicious.
-
Nope, I do not download anything on my computer or phone or anywhere else, you never know what kind of virus or spyware is in there
-
I rarely take a chance on downloading anything
-
I don't trust downloads from any site that I don't know is legit. You hear so much able people hacking your computer and getting your information now.
-
I have never downloaded and app for any survey or offer. This is something that I personally would not consider doing.
There are so many different types of surveys and offers that do not require any downloading. Those are the ones that I stick to.
-
Never downloaded any type of app for surveys. I always just X out them as I don't want to take the chance of something happening to my laptop or phone even though I have anti virus protection on both.
-
I would never Download an App for a Website either. I do not want anyone Tacking my browsing History or snooping into my personal Business at all.

I try to avoid surveys like those. That wasn't very nice of them to not give you the pennies as well.

I stay away from these. You never know what kind of viruses are going to come your way.
-
I am afraid to download anything. I do have some earning apps but have had no trouble with them so far
-
That is a invite for malware.
-
Yeah me too. I say been very cautions about that
-
I never download anything from here via videos, surveys, apps, etc. You just never know.
-
I click off those surveys. I never download anything because of malware.
-

Most of them do not have viruses and are safe. They are trying to up their stats for number of downloads. Even if you download and immediately delete it in the app store it still counts as a down load. People are more apt to download something that has a higher number of downloads.
-
I won't do those either. I have been tempted before but I really do not like the idea of downloading an app or extension that keeps up with my browsing history.
-
I don't download any Apps that I am not familiar with, could be a virus.
-
I've done surveys that requires you to download app. It took awhile to get credited. But I do not think it's worth it since I see it as a waste of time.
-
I am glad some of you have had a good experience with the downloading off of a survey. I'm still not gonna do it. I am wary of even just opening another website off the video page.
-
No, I don't do surveys that require me to download an app. Often, they don't pay enough for those. I use other GPT apps that pay me more to download and test the same app.
