Title: Sporting events no crowd
Post by: metsrock69 on April 04, 2020, 03:43:05 pm
Have you been watching the sporting events recently that have no crowds but action? the most recent ones they have are the wrestling divisions. Even the weekend of april 4th and 5th they have a wrestling event with no crowd. I miss the crowd because they are the ones who bring more excitement to the action. I can't wait for that to happen again

Yes, I've been watching horse racing (Fox Sports offered viewers a real treat by televising a few tracks in March on channel FS1).  That sport must go on due to the care and well being of the horses.  Racing can manage without the crowds due to the growth and establishment of simulcasting live feeds from the tracks for most of the racing events occurring around the globe.  Today, it still seems a little weird without the fans or the railbirds present, but the camera always points towards the action.

On the other hand, some tracks have elected to suspend racing for the time being.  This does hurt the industry, especially the workers on the backside who make their living caring for the horses currently in training and the area of the stable as well.  The road to the Kentucky Derby (historically held the first Saturday in May) has been radically altered by COVID-19; it is now pointed towards a September date.

I have heard about them but I have not watched one yet. I might give one a look just to see what it is like.
