Title: Hoping it is not a big mistake
Post by: debidoo on May 04, 2020, 02:10:58 pm
Well my state, Florida is in phase one for reopening the state, restaurants, etc.  I am personally not going to change anything about what I am doing because I think we are still in health danger but everyone can do what they want to do.  Odd I just got a news text on my phone this morning that the numbers are being under-reported.  So I guess I am still gonna be staying at home.  Do you think things are on the upswing?

Let your kingdom come "on Earth"as it is in heaven.

Thats when things will be better.

I hope not either but we really do need to start opening.

I don't think the numbers are being reported correctly either.  Do what feels comfortable for you.  Continue to pray and stay safe.

My state, Georgia, is kind of on that same path. The small businesses that were closed, including restaurants, hair/nail salons, bowling alleys) have just opened up again to business. I think if people will just use their heads, then there shouldn't be any problem with these businesses reopening. I don't plan on going out to any non-essential business, but if I did, I would definitely be wearing my mask!  :peace:

I think opening up these businesses is too early.  I understand that people have bills to pay but please be careful when going back to work in whatever business.

we also are reopening parts of our state.  I think it's too early.  I suppose it was inevitable.  People would rather take the chance because they need the money.  I have to admit I was really happy that my favorite restaurant opened up even just for take out.  I was getting tired of my own cooking.  What I will miss after everything is opened. Is that as it is now you can get a mixed drink for take out.   That will end soon.

The news reported this morning (May 5) that since re-opening the odds of getting corona in Georgia have increased by 44 percent, I believe it was.  It is so important that people follow all social distancing rules and use their common sense in these instances.  However, from watching common sense being ignored in this country, we may be in trouble!!!

It doesn't matter what the leaders say, I am self-quaranteening anyway.

As long as Social Security keeps paying by direct deposit, I think I should be O.K. as long as my Ring Doorbell works and I can tell them to leave whatever they need to on the porch.

It is too early for businesses to open up.  Trump's leadership is dropping everybody into this black hole with no way out.  He's is spouting off about everything being ok.  NOTHING IS OKAY!!!!!!!!

I hope for all of you it is not a mistake.  Our governor outline the plan today to open Illinois and it looking at it regions instead of the whole state opening at one.  He has 4 step plan and so far no one is opening before May 29th because the numbers are not what they are suppose to be by President Trump guidelines.  Don't see our region opening for a long time because we are in the Chicago area with the most cases and people not doing what they are suppose to be doing.

North Carolina will be lifting the state at home order on Friday, May 8th at 5 p.m.  We have a 3 phase plan on when things can open.  They are encouraging at risk people to continue to stay at home.

Im also in FL and think this is a big mistake. I am still staying home also, but my daughter works at Olive Garden and told they are reopening at 25 percent.

I understand most people wanting to open things back up and getting back to work,,,,,,   But it is way to soon.  I live in Ohio and we are still at the stay at home till the end of May.  Small things will be opening here and there and more to come every now and then but I think its still to soon for even that stuff.  People are not following orders now,,  how is it going to be when places to eat start opening ??  it is all going to go down hill fast

Not Trump. This is the decision of each state's governor.  My state is still closed tight except for liquor stores and the other "essential" items.  People are tired of going without working or having a paycheck. They can't survive on empty pockets...and now I'm going to give a most common argument.....the regular flu kills more people every year than this virus, yet the country doesn't lock down and no one wears a mask. We go on with our lives normally. I think they reported that Sweden never did a lockdown and they didn't have a large amount of people dying from it either. So what's the secret?
