Title: My Sneaky Cat
Post by: Mizzkizz7 on May 17, 2020, 09:42:59 pm
I caught my cat on top of my refrigerator in my kitchen and when he saw me he jumped off quickly. I may need to enrich his environment more, he only has one cat tree and plenty of cat toys. I have a laser too. Any funny sneaky things your cat ever done? :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat:

Awww! I love cats! My siblings and I used to sneak our outdoor kittens into my grandparents' house so they could explore. They would always make us take them back outside, though. Haha!

As you may or may not know I have many cats, all indoor.  They all have their 'funny" things.  I have one who goes into all my bathrooms and unrolls the toilet paper.  Another goes into the kitchen and opens all the cabnits, so now we have baby proof locks on them, and the list goes on and on, but I love them all. 💖

If this the first time the cat has got on top of the fridge? Mine stays there. Or uses it go get even further up and on top of the cabinets. They like to be up high. Not sure why. It is a long way to the floor if they were to fall.

I think all of the cats we've had over the years when the kids were home liked the top of the refrigerator.

I've seen my granddaughter's cat walk along the top of a door.......she got into a bit of a tricky situation when the door moved open so that the gap between the door and wall got wider.  She got down ok.

Cats love to explore.

Ours always loved plastic bags....

I forgot that mine done that once. He opened the door enough til it thawed everything in the freezer and it ruined.

One of our cats used to hide in the file cabinet whenever it thundered out....he got in there and pulled the drawer closed.

OMG! Hahaha! You had to baby proof cabinets because of your cats?! Sounds like your little ones are mischievous. This makes me miss having cats!  :)

When I had my cat, she would sleep across my neck at night.  One time I woke up to her running around in circles on the other side of the bed. She wouldn't stop. Finally I got up and turn the light on. There was a giant spider on the ceiling and she saw it in the dark.  Just trying to alert me to pending doom, I guess.  Sadly, I'm now allergic to cats.

The cat I have now, Tinker, doesn't really do anything sneaky. If you make him mad, he may sit and think about it a few minutes and then ATTACK! But I had a cat named Cisco when I was a kid who would get up on top of the refrigerator, bide his time silently, blend into the woodwork so that you weren't paying attention to the fact that he was up there, wait until you went to get something from the freezer, and then ATTACK! He was really sneaky, but I loved his spirit!  :cat: :peace:

My cat will open our kitchen pantry door, jump on the shelf in the pantry where I keep his canned cat food and knock it off the shelf and all over the floor if he's hungry and i haven't fed him yet.  He's lucky he's so cute and I love him so much!!

I hate spiders and I'm really afraid of them! Good thing your cat alerted you and I am allergic to cats too but I have one still.

Cats are so interesting. We do not have one though as I am allergic.

I am like you in respect to cats.  I am allergic, and to some, my experience is that I can be highly allergic.  Others, at times, not nearly so much.  For example, my youngest daughter and her husband acquired a Maine Coon about 2 years ago and I seem to be able to tolerate it pretty well.  However, the home environment might be helping.  They have no carpeting and their furniture is all leather. I don't think these surfaces "absorb" and hang onto the allergens.

My cousin's wife is so allergic she cannot even walk in to a house that has a cat in it.  I guess you could get one of them hairless cats if you really wanted a cat.  But I think they look a little scary.

We used to hang out coats on the backs of dinning chairs.  My cat would hide under the chairs and trip the first bare foot person that walked by.    He also chased my daughter up the stairs on his hind legs.  Like a little monster.  He was so cool.

My cat is old now and she is too fat to jump around like she use to, although she can still catch a mouse if she needs to.  She will kill the mouse and just leave it right there.  She has always been cold and sometimes she goes under the cover with me or she will go get on the dryer when it is running.

My cat used to perch himself on the toilet and pee in it just like we do! It was a riot when he did that. He was a really smart cat. Long gone though.

I was feeling a bit mischievous and found that this was the oldest "off topic" post in the forum that was not locked. I have a few sneaky cats - so it seemed appropriate to comment. I don't expect anyone to respond to me directly since nobody will really even read my remarks, but it will be fun(ny) to watch other people respond to the OP in the coming days since my comment will bump this topic back to the main page.
Enjoy the thread fellow cat lovers!

I've seen video that shows no matter how far down a cat falls, it always lands on its feet unharmed.

I'm not suggesting anyone try it though.  :cat:

Our gray cat known as Miss Ariel used to walk around a ledge in our kitchen like she was doing a circus act.  Her sister mudpie just passed away a while back.  She stayed mostly on the ground though.

We have tried toys, etc for our cats over the years, and they seem to find their own amusement.  Jumping off the refrigerator sounds normal to me.  Our cat runs through the house like he is after something.  From the front to the back and then front again, over and over again.  It's funny to watch. :cat:

My cat must be cold blooded.  She would jump on top of the dyer when I was using it and curl up in a ball and sleep.  Now she is older and the washer and dryer are behind doors so she can't do it anymore.  Sometimes she will go under the couch and sleep.

My cat when thirsty would jump in the tub and lick any water. Her way of telling me she needed water. Sure enough the water bowl 3as empty.

I am ashamed to say I have too many items stored on top of the refrigerator.  :-[

My cat couldn't get up there if she was dying to do so. And I'm very glad of that.

My granddaughter has a cat that lets you know when she needs water and when you go fill her bowl she follow us to the sink watches you while you filling up the bowl and follows us back to her spot while we put the bowl back, then she goes and drink it.  She also loves to go under the blankets while we try to make the beds.

She also knows where my daughter keeps her food and treats and takes you there until you either fill her bowl of food or give her a treat

Yeah Luna, my granddaughter's cat does that too, it is so funny.  She seems to know what time I wake up and waits at the door, if I don't open it right away she meaow and stick her paw under the door until I do.
