Title: Cicadas - June
Post by: ktheodos on June 12, 2021, 06:13:04 am
They have been very busy this month but seem to have slowed down quite a bit and are less active and less noisy. Anyone know when they will go away again?

The cicada killer bees should be coming around. They are a reckless flying bee that is very pretty. They make their homes in the dirt or sand traps on the golf course. They go after the cicadas.

I think they wouldnt harm us unless they were threatened, but they are very intimidating looking.

They are in the wasp family.

They will be here until the beginning of July.  I'll be so glad.  I haven't been able to sit out in my yard or hang up my clothes outside.

There's no report of them in our area but I've seen some of the damage they have caused in other areas and all the noise they making.

Really grateful that we don't have them here. We don't need anything else to deal with.
