Fortunately for our town, we have gotten back to our carnival and fairs. I am looking forward to our fair comin up soon
-
They must still be doing something around here cause they are doing 4-H projects, a few towns over.

I don't know if I miss them, but it certainly seems like a lot of people do...everywhere I go I see them these days

Growing up, there was a carnival that came to town only a block away from where I lived and stay for a week. I used to get a job at the Waffle Ice Cream Shop every year. Made a few bucks. When the property was sold for a high rise for elderly, no more carnival. Then the county decided to start a county fair. They didn't know if it would be a success but it has been very successful. Had some big band names perform there every year. An Elvis impersonator from two counties away performed one of the earlier years. Holy cow! Elvis incarnated!!!! He now performs in Vegas every year. :(

We used to have the Mid South Fair and Cotton Carnival here in the center of Memphis Tn at the fairgrounds. Years ago they moved it to North Mississippi. Sadly an end of an era.

When I was a kid we had a carnival that was about 3 blocks from our house We got about $1 to $2 a day to go. We played the games, went on the rides, had a great time. Haven’t seen a carnival in years. Our city has a fair every year with big names. This year Carrie Underwood is the top performer.

I used to love them, but as I get older I don't trust the rides these days

I would love to go to a Carnival. Especially for the funnel cakes and the games.
-
I noticed they are starting to come back in our area. A sure sign of summer if you ask me.
-
I used to get so excited when I was a kid when I saw a carnival. I couldn't wait to go.

I miss carnivals a lot as well. My son's elementary school still holds them every summer to welcome new students into the neighborhood which our family still enjoys. It didn't happen last summer due to the pandemic. Hopefully it will be back this summer.

I love carnivals and would go on every ride, but as I'm getting older, the need of going to carnivals has dissipated.

I haven't been to a carnival or country fair in a number of years. I miss them so much. I always went because of the candy apples.

Went to them often as a child, but no so much as an adult. We do have a local county fair every year, but we also have the world's best amusement park in town - which has most of the typical carnival food and rides and even has a petting zoo. So we can still get a lot of the same kind of fun there. It is much larger and much more crowded than a typical county fair, but fun is still fun! And with a season pass and a meal plan - it is also a little bit cheaper than going to the fair.

Carnivals are one of the most fun things in the world, I miss them dearly.

I miss arcades too, I was thinking this same thing while watching the first Wreck It Ralph not too long ago.

I haven't gone to one in many years but they are starting to come back. I 'm really not interested since I've gotten older and because of this virus.
