Title: Airline Security
Post by: strumcat on December 28, 2009, 03:25:09 pm
Do you think it is safe to fly? Is TSA doing it's job? What else could we be doing to ensure that people with harmful intentions don't get on flights?

Shi*t is going to happen no matter what they do.  You're taking a risk flying either way.

Don't allow people onto planes.

I think its safe to fly. Statistics show that more people die in car accidents than flying. The terrorism incident this holiday season was more than likely a result of a lax attitude displayed by the TSA and airport security. If the TSA agents and security were doing their jobs correctly this incident may have been avoided.
I am not afraid to fly, and refuse to stop because of some idiot/s act or attempted act of terrorism.

agreed! and the only way to get to my hometown is to fly, so there isn't really any options there.

Nothing really unless you want to break some civil rules such a racial profiling. They've got decent security measures but nothing's ever perfect. Just have signs saying "report any suspicious activity" and ask everyone to be careful. Last time I flew last year someone forgot their bag on a seat and security was on it within seconds of it being reported.

I totally agree with you on this one.     They cannot make us live in fear.  TSA just has to do their jobs the way they were with a 9/12 mentality, not 9/10.

  when i traveled round-trip last summer (twice) it was decent security. the airports that I was in were good. The airlines were also good about the security (as well as they could be).
