Beware, I did the Game Vance offer and Norton Internet Security blocked it as a high threat and said it did not install but I still found traces of it in various areas so I ran a malwarbyte scan and it came up w/17 infections all from game vance!

I didn't know what Gamevance was and now that I know what it is I am staying away from it by a mile... :BangHead:

gamevance used to credit good, but now, sometimes, it might credit and they leave a nasty spyware when you install there app.

Thanks a lot people for sharing this. I will keep away from it.
Also my computer is acting weird for the past few days. Like, unable to close a browser window etc. This is happening quite frequently. Sice I have Norton, was feeling safe. Looks like I will have to recheck it. Thanks a lot....

i've been paid well by the gamevance offers in the past, but yes, i think there is malware with their software. i suggest you use the program sandboxie to run the gamevance offers. it's a program that installs it on a different part of your computer blocked away from all your important system files. when you want to uninstall it you simply delete the folder it was installed to.

the credit is not worth the spyware/adware/malware that may come with it. thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the update. The website probably caught bugs that they aren't even aware of...

It tried to get a hold of my computer but avast blocked it.FC really need to get rid of that mess. :sad1:

Thank you for the info. I tried the offer before I read your posting. I believe that I did it correctly but never got credit for it. I do not believe that I have had any problems with my computer since attempting the offer but I have an Apple and supposedly Apple has built in protection against computer bugs like malware and spyware .... Supposedly, at least for now.

Eh, Gamevance is alright. I try not to download anything that looks virusy. I would rather they keep the .40 and let me keep my computer running.

Thanks for the heads up on this one.

I think the Gamevance offers have spyware in them which is much different than viruses or malware. One is dangerous and one is just an invasion of privacy. Most people don't want either, but that is exactly why you should be running a good virus/spyware protection software so that you can be aware of it and decide. Just a tip that I have learned, Avast free was suggested to me by an admin of a well known site that encourages lots of surfing. He swears by it and since I installed it, I notice I get way more warnings then I used to and I have not had any problems. I don't ever pay for virus protection although I guess some people feel better if they do.

Stay totally away from this site, I downloaded a game and was infected with many different viruses...beware!!!

I had so many problems with Gamevance
One of them being the issue with there ads.
Even with a pop up blocker I could not control the ads by gamevance.
I would be doing a survey and I would have 3 or 4 ads pop up on me.
If I ran my mouse over certain words they became mini ads
I tried to uninstall there downloads no luck.
What I finally did was I noticed on one of the ads on the bottom Gamevance
I googled the word I found messages about problems with this program and how to fix it.
I then went to there website and on the mainpage there is a how to remove this program.
After I did this step and ran a virus scan and a shut down-
after that I saw no more of there ads.
A clue on there ads read gamevance on the bottom.
This did not effect my computer for 2 week after I installed there games.
And My grandson Played them.
